Look closely. Listen carefully. Ask lots of questions. πŸ‘€πŸ‘‚πŸ”¬ This week, our Lower School scientists used all five senses to explore, observe, and make discoveries in Ms. Farino’s and Mrs. Donahue’s classes. 🌟 They also kept building reading and math confidence, one brave try at a time. πŸ’™ Try this at dinner tonight: 🍽️ πŸ‘‰ Which of your five senses did you use most this week? πŸ‘‰ What felt tricky at first but is getting easier? πŸ‘‰ What’s one thing you were brave enough to try? All three divisions kicked things off with a pep rally, and the Lower School took home the Spirit Week win! πŸŽ‰ Then students ran, walked, and cheered each other on, lap after lap, and refueled with pizza, Kona Ice, and smoothies blended on a pedal-powered bike. 🚲 Congratulations to our Most-Laps winners and their new medals! πŸ… Thank you to our faculty, staff, CBA Family Organization, parent volunteers, and Culinary Connection for making it a day to remember. πŸ’™ Full story: link in bio πŸ”— . . #ChesapeakeBayAcademy #CBAFunRun #FunRun #BoomerTheDolphin #SchoolSpirit #CommunityEvent #HandsOnLearning #LearningDifferences #VirginiaBeach by @chesapeakebayacademy

There are always sew many possibilities at CBA. πŸ§΅πŸ’™ This fall, Head of School Krishna and his father gifted us a 1955 sewing machine that belonged to his late mother, Sarla. It now joins Ms. Rocks’ collection of vintage machines, where our students will learn on it just like they learn on the others: seeing, touching, and understanding how every part works. ✨ Her legacy lives on in every seam they sew. Give a Middle Schooler a lever and a pile of natural materials, and you’ll find out what they understand. πŸŒΏβš™οΈ Our students built their own simple machines outside this week, testing ideas, adjusting, and teaming up to see if the science held up. Then, in Morning Meeting, they tackled the question that matters most: how do we help every student feel like they belong? πŸ’™ Full story in our newsletter.
