A tour of El Bañuelo, the celestial 11th-century public bath (or hammam), one of the best-preserved in Spain. ✨💧🙌

Planted this sign in our front yard on the very day Tr*mp was sworn in. It’s never looked better! 💙💙💙💙💙 by @chezdeleget

Happy Halloween, everybody! A throwback to Mateo’s first time dressing up 17 years ago in Brooklyn. Very chubby cheeks on that skeleton! 🎃👻😱 by @chezdeleget

About 30 minutes north of Málaga by train is the wonderful, petite city of Antequera (population 41,000). Strategically located in the center between Málaga, Granada, Córdoba, and Seville, the city has been populated since prehistoric times. Although we were there only for a very short couple of days to see the ancient megalithic sites (more on those in coming days), we were immediately overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of its eclectic architecture, hilly topography, and surrounding landscape of endless olive trees. And it was hot. Really hot. But in retrospect, I really wish we had spent more time there.🌳🌳🌳

Absolutely stunning around here right now. 🍁🍁🍁 by @chezdeleget

One last post from the Cathedral of Malaga, Spain. Tucked away upstairs in a back hallway is this extraordinary, esoteric painting entitled “Allegory of the Ascetic Life and Mystique of the Charterhouse” by an anonymous 17th century Spanish artist.

Throughout Christian history, the concept of the charterhouse served as a powerful allegory for the complete withdrawal from the world to achieve mystical union with God.

On par with Giovanni di Paolo’s renowned painting “The Creation of the World and the Expulsion from Paradise” (1445) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I definitely plan to include this charterhouse painting in my upcoming Abstraction seminar this spring. 🙌

That gorgeous full moon making our place look extra spooky this evening! 👻 by @chezdeleget

Early Sunday mornings at home be like… Band rehearsal with Eva on bass, Lex on vocals, Taha on guitar, and Mateo on drums. The kids are more than alright — they’re making art. 😎 by @chezdeleget

Endless mystical imagery at the Cathedral of Malaga, Spain. This trip I was particularly taken by depictions of the Holy Spirit, envisioned by earlier artists as omnipotent eyes, birds in flight, radiating suns, puffy clouds, and esoteric pyramids. Plus lots and lots of virgins everywhere. Like everywhere. The virgin of this, the virgin of that, ad infinitum, amen. ☀️
