It's the end of beginning! 🎶 🧡 A reminder that, as of July 1, 2026, The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) is now Chicago Arts High School, a @chipubschools district school. As the School finalizes its operations this summer, this Instagram account will be paused and not actively managed. Thank you for engaging with the slices of ChiArts life we’ve been able to share with you. Here’s to the next chapter! 🌈 For the latest news and contact information, please visit the School’s official CPS transition page, link in bio. 🔗 by @chiartshs
Today marks an important milestone for arts education in Chicago! ✊ The Chicago Board of Education has voted YES to #SaveChiArts and transition our school from a contract into a district-managed Fine & Performing Arts High School. 🎉 This is an important first step toward ensuring a sustainable future for ChiArts and our pre-professional arts conservatories. The Board’s resolution also includes a commitment to “preserving the conservatory to the greatest extent practicable” by exploring “alternative financial strategies and partnerships.” We are profoundly grateful to our scholar-artists, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters whose voices, stories, and passion made this moment possible. Every letter, testimony, and act of advocacy mattered. 💚 Thank you to the Chicago Board of Education for recognizing the power of the arts and believing in the ChiArts mission and community. Together, we will shape a strong, sustainable future for Chicago’s first and only public pre-professional arts high school, where creativity and opportunity go hand in hand. Stay tuned for updates as we work alongside @chipubschools, the Board of Education, and our community partners to preserve and strengthen our arts conservatories during this transition! #WeAreChiArts by @chiartshs
Hey ChiArts fam! 💛 As we prepare for our school’s transition to district management within @chipubschools on July 1, a quick but important reminder: Head to chiarts.gumroad.com and download any of your favorite performances from your time at ChiArts before this Tuesday, June 30. After that, our Gumroad account will close on July 1, 2026 and these recordings will no longer be available. Use the code HOMEISWHERETHEARTIS at checkout for FREE downloads.🚨 Stay tuned here for more updates on our CPS transition, and in the meantime, we hope you’re having a relaxing summer! ☀️ by @chiartshs

On May 26, 2026, the ChiArts Class of 2026 signed off, tossing their caps and crossing the stage at the @harristheaterchicago 🎓🔥 As the school year comes to a close on June 4 and Chiarts marks an important transition to becoming a district-managed school with @chipubschools on July 1, we celebrate and honor the Class of 2026, their families, ChiArts faculty/staff, @chiartspso, community partners, board members, and ChiArts Foundation donors who made this journey possible. In the words of @chiartsalumni (Dance '14), faculty member, and commencement keynote speaker Ms. Imani English, "Success is not in what you do or what you earn, it's about who you choose to be." To the Class of 2026: we're so grateful for who you have chosen to be, and we can't wait to see who you become next. 🧡 A huge thank you and shout-out to Theatre graduate Ilyana Becker @ilyanajenevieve for producing and sharing the sign-off video 📹 by @chiartshs
Today, the ChiArts Class of 2026 celebrated their final Friday of high school ever. 🥹🧡 Next Tuesday, they will walk across the stage at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, in the heart of our city, marking the end of one milestone and the beginning of another. 🎓 The 12 students featured in this graphic represent just 10% of our incredible 14th graduating class. To the entire Class of 2026: we couldn’t be more proud of you, and we’re so excited to see what you do next! 🔥 by @chiartshs

On Monday, the ChiArts stage became a global classroom. 🎶 Through our ongoing partnership with the @hancockinstitute, world-class musicians from around the world joined us for a special jazz “informance," bringing students inside the sound, history, and evolution of jazz in real time. 🔥 As Chicago celebrates @intljazzday, April 30, this moment feels especially full circle. @herbiehancock, the Institute’s founder, delivered ChiArts’ very first commencement address, and now, ChiArts alum @imjoelmross (Music ’13) returns to the global stage, performing alongside jazz legends at the All-Star Global Concert at the @LyricOpera. Swipe to see a photo of Herbie and Joel performing at our first commencement! 🎥 Want to experience Monday’s informance? We’ll be streaming the full performance tomorrow at 8:45 AM, right here on Instagram and our YouTube @ChiArtsHS. by @chiartshs
