Our young people are putting their ideas into action and inviting the community to be part of it. On November 12th teens in our Community STARS: Youth Enterprise + Service Lab will help lead a FREE Youth-Led Toiletry Giveaway, with a goal of distributing 500+ care kits. ⭐️💙 They’re helping plan the details, organize responsibilities, and think about how guests will feel when they arrive. This is an opportunity to practice leadership while offering something meaningful to their neighbors: everyday essentials, a warm welcome, and care. Everyone is welcome! Join us, bring a neighbor, and help spread the word to someone who could use this support. Thursday, November 12th, 2026 5:30–7:30 PM, or until supplies are distributed Grand Crossing Park - 7655 S. Ingleside Ave, Chicago, IL 60619 Scan the QR code on the flyer to RSVP. Kits are limited and available while supplies last. RSVP does not guarantee a care kit. Presented in partnership with the Chicago Park District and 6th District Community Policing. Interested in supporting the giveaway with a donation? Contact future@chicagoemergingstars.org. The official recap is here. Five weeks later, we are still smiling, still reflecting, and still carrying the impact of what happened at Cole Park. Chicago Emerging Stars 4th Annual Back-to-School Bash & Work and Wellness Fair brought together 4,428 youth, families, volunteers, partners, sponsors, vendors, and community members for a day filled with joy, preparation, wellness, workforce opportunity, youth leadership, and community care. Together, we distributed 1,800 backpacks and school supplies, served 3,500 meals, supported families with resources, connected young adults to opportunities, helped youth feel celebrated, and created a space where community showed up with love. By the end of the day, everything was gone. No backpacks. No food. No supplies. No giveaways. And while that showed the impact of the day, it also reminded us why this work matters so much. This recap is more than a video. It is a reminder that when young people are trusted to lead, when families are supported with dignity, and when community comes together with purpose, something powerful happens. Watch the recap. Share the story. Support the mission. This is Chicago Emerging Stars. This is youth-led. This is community-rooted. And this is only the beginning. ⭐️💙 Watch here: chicagoemergingstars.org/post/more-than-backpacks-2026-back-to-school-bash #chicagoemergingstars #backtoschoolbash #youthleadership #chicagoyouth #jaquezathomas by @chicagoemergingstars
Five weeks later, these photos still tell a story we are proud to carry. On August 22nd, Chicago Emerging Stars welcomed 4,428 youth, families, volunteers, partners, sponsors, vendors, and community members to Cole Park for our 4th Annual Back-to-School Bash & Work and Wellness Fair. Together, we distributed 1,800 backpacks and school supplies, served 3,500 meals, and created a day rooted in preparation, joy, support, and community care. But beyond the numbers, these photos show what made the day meaningful: young people leading, families being supported, volunteers showing up with love, partners sharing resources, and a community coming together around one shared belief our youth deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. To every family who attended, every volunteer who served, every sponsor who believed, every partner who showed up, and every young person who helped bring this vision to life: thank you. This day was possible because people chose to care. If you were part of this moment, we would love to hear what the day meant to you. Together, we are shaping tomorrow, one star at a time. #chicagoemergingstars #backtoschoolbash #youthleadership #communityimpact #chicagoyouth by @chicagoemergingstars

Our youth summer program has ended but the impact created during our time together remains. As we close off this chapter, we celebrate all the work our youth accomplished in our final week. We spent time looking back on memories, planning out the future, and finishing this program as one family. This program gave youth the space they needed to grow and become stronger than ever. Now, they are ready to become leaders. #chicagoemergingstars #chicagoyouth #youthempowerment #leadership by @chicagoemergingstars
The countdown is officially on 🔥‼️ Our 4th Annual Back-to-School Bash & Work and Wellness Fair is happening next week, and our youth wanted to help tell the story in their own way. This promo video was created by young people in our summer program, and that makes it even more special. At Chicago Emerging Stars, youth leadership is not just something we talk about. It is something we practice, support, and make space for. As we prepare to welcome thousands of youth and families next Saturday, we are reminded that this event is about more than backpacks. It is about joy, preparation, wellness, opportunity, community care, and showing young people that they are seen, supported, and worth investing in. We can’t wait to see everyone next week. Please share this video with a family, young person, school, organization, business, or community member who should be part of this day. Together, we are shaping tomorrow, one star at a time. 💙⭐️ #chicagoemergingstars #backtoschoolbash #chicagoyouth #youthleadership #communityimpact by @chicagoemergingstars
Last week our young people focused on the topic of leadership following a theme of: “One Team. One Community. One Mission.” They spent time practicing leadership through their actions and voices. One great example was our Big Brother / Big Sister event where our young people curated questions to ask older youth about future endeavors such as high school and college. Later that day, they practiced leadership in action and service by participating in a community cleanup. At the end of the week, we celebrated our youth and the growth they have accomplished in themselves. #chicagoemergingstars #chicagoyouth #youthempowerment #leadership by @chicagoemergingstars
We at Chicago Emerging Stars are proud to announce our Star Youths of the Week 6: La’Kya Green and Kajuan Lewis! ⭐️ These two had shown great acts of growth and leadership during the program last week! #chicagoemergingstars #youthspotlight #chicagoyouth #youthempowerment by @chicagoemergingstars
Yesterday was a very special day for one of our summer programs. It was our Big Brother/Big Sister day where we brought in high school seniors, college freshman, and sophomores. These older students acted as mentors with our youth as they engaged in mutual conversations of topics such as how to prepare for high school and college, navigating relationships, priorities to keep them on track, and overall life experiences. At the end of the day, we finished our program with a community park clean-up to connect our youth further with their mentors and to give back to our communities. #chicagoemergingstars #communitystars #youthleadership #chicagoyouth #youthdevelopment by @chicagoemergingstars
Last Friday, we hosted our 6th District Peace Rally in partnership with the 6th District Police Department, welcoming more than 200 youth for an incredible day of community, connection, and peace. We are amazed and grateful for everyone who was able to attend and stand alongside youth and families as we focused on a common goal of peace, unity, and positive change. This event helped remind us that any goal is achievable when a community comes together as one. #chicagoemergingstars #6district by @chicagoemergingstars
We at Chicago Emerging Stars are proud to announce our Star Youths of the Week: Mason McGhee and Taylor Johnson! ⭐️ These two have shown great acts of leadership and commitment to growth during the program this week! #chicagoemergingstars #youthspotlight #chicagoyouth by @chicagoemergingstars
