Every family’s journey is different. And that’s where we begin. ❤️ At Australian Children’s Chiropractic Centre, we take a whole-family approach to chiropractic care, with a special focus on nervous system health and development. 🌿 But what does nervous system-focused care actually look like? It’s about taking the time to understand the individual. Our chiropractors conduct thorough assessments exploring key areas of nervous system development, including primitive reflexes, posture, strength, balance, coordination and proprioception. ✨ From there, we develop individualised care plans tailored to each person’s needs, bringing together our team’s knowledge, experience and collaborative approach. 📑 We believe in looking beyond the surface, getting to know the whole person and making every family feel heard, understood and supported. Whether you’re exploring chiropractic care for your little ones or the whole family, we’d love to welcome you to ACCC. Your family’s journey starts here. ❤️ #ChildrensChiropractic #FamilyChiropractic #NervousSystemHealth #ChildDevelopment #NewcastleFamilies by @childrenschiropractic

Hi 👋 I’m Dr Jacey Pryjma - one of Australia’s only dual titled Paediatric Chiropractors. I have been a Chiropractor for 20 years and 15 of those I have spent teaching Health Professionals in post graduate training about neurodevelopment. This Primitive Reflex Workshop is a hands on, powerful workshop for families, teachers, educators and health professionals alike. Understanding the layers of neurodevelopment 🧠 and what clues to look out for is a powerful tool to have to better understand the struggles and then strategies to work with kids of all backgrounds. 📍 If you’re a parent reading this, we encourage you to send this to your child’s therapy providers and teachers and teacher supports, so more of their team learn about primitive reflexes too! Primitive reflex research continues to build and there is a lot to understand in regard to social, emotional, academics, maturity and learning. That’s what makes this work so fascinating! Join us for this great event on; 🗓️ Saturday November 14th at 1pm 🎟️ Tickets are $59 for a two hour workshop. Bring 5 or more from your team for $50 each 🔗 link in bio. by @childrenschiropractic
This little guy is FIVE MONTHS OLD, and look at the strength training he’s putting in! Pushing, holding, rocking, shifting his weight. Over and over throughout the day. If we trained that much, we’d all be elite athletes 😂 But it’s not just muscles getting stronger. Every push and wobble is also a workout for the brain. Each movement sends a flood of information from the body to the brain about balance, position and pressure. The brain uses that information to build and strengthen connections, so the next attempt is a little smoother and more coordinated. It’s neurodevelopment before our eyes . Repetition is how the brain learns. The more often a movement is practised, the stronger and more efficient those pathways become, laying the foundations for crawling, sitting, standing and eventually running, climbing and everything in between. They wobble, topple, reset and try again. So much effort goes into movements we eventually take for granted. A pretty incredible reminder that strength, skill and the brain all develop through repeated attempts. You don’t have to be good at something to keep practising. 💛 We teach you all about these moves and more in Rolling To Rocking workshop run every three weeks in Newcastle Warners Bay! Book the final classes before Christmas now! 🔗 link in bio by @childrenschiropractic
Think you can stack cups without getting your hands mixed up? 🥤👀 This week’s exercise challenge is… ✨ Opposite Hand Stack! ✨ We put Dr Jess’ coordination and concentration to the test! How to play 👇 1️⃣ Place 6 cups in front of you, 3 on each side. 2️⃣ Use your RIGHT hand to collect cups from the LEFT, and your LEFT hand to collect cups from the RIGHT. 3️⃣ Stack them into one tower in the centre. 🎯 The goal: Build the tower without using the wrong hand or knocking it over! Why crossing the midline? 🧠 Reaching across the body challenges bilateral motor coordination and spatial awareness. Your brain uses proprioceptive information from muscles and joints to help guide the position and movement of your arms and hands. This activity also challenges trunk control, reaching accuracy and coordination, skills that are useful for children and adults alike! The levels for the little ones 👇 🟢 Level 1: Stack 6 cups 🟡 Level 2: Stack 10 cups 🔴 Level 3: Recreate a coloured pattern while alternating hands 🏆 Parent vs Kid: Same cup layout, same rules! First to correctly build the tower without a cross-body mistake wins. Think you could stack faster than our chiropractors? 👀 Give it a go next time you’re in the practice or at home! by @childrenschiropractic
School readiness is about more than knowing your ABCs. 🎒 ✏️🎨 With school orientations underway, many little ones are preparing for an exciting new chapter! New classrooms, new faces and new routines bring plenty of new experiences and challenges. ✨ 🧠 Your child's nervous system plays an important role in how they process the world around them, from movement and coordination to sensory experiences and navigating big emotions. 💥 One part of early development that contributes to this journey is primitive reflexes. These are natural movement patterns present from birth that typically integrate as the nervous system matures. Sometimes, however, this process doesn't happen as expected, and reflexes may remain active beyond the usual developmental stage. 💫 At ACCC, we love supporting children and families through every stage of growth and development. Our chiropractors take the time to understand each child's individual needs and tailor their care accordingly. 🌿 Want to learn more? Join us at our upcoming Primitive Reflexes Workshop on Saturday 14th November where you will have the opportunity to explore the role of primitive reflexes in early development and what to look out for as little ones grow. Here's to supporting our little ones through every stage of their journey! 💛 #SchoolReadiness #ChildDevelopment #NervousSystemHealth #FamilyWellbeing #NewcastleMums by @childrenschiropractic

A little reminder for the parents who are doing their best every single day. 💛 Between the busy mornings, endless to-do lists and everything in between, it’s easy to forget to give yourself a little grace. You don’t have to get everything right. Sometimes, the little moments are the big moments. 🌿 Take a breath, slow down when you can, and remember that you’re doing a wonderful job. ☺️ Sending a little love to all our ACCC families. ✨ (Share this with someone who needs to hear this 🫶) #ACCCFamily #ParentingJourney #CultivatingConnection #FamilyWellbeing #parentingreminder by @childrenschiropractic
