Nobody tells you to come here in the morning.
Radhanagar belongs to the sunset crowd — and at 5pm, half of Havelock is standing on it. But at six in the morning it’s two kilometres of empty sand, mist still sitting in the treeline, and light so soft the water looks like it hasn’t woken up yet.
The sun comes up behind you here, over the forest. No crowd, no golden-hour scramble. Just the beach doing nothing at all.
Go at dawn. Come back at dusk. Same beach, two completely different places.

Save this. It’s the tip most people miss.

People come for the water. It’s the forest that surprises them.

Fly over Havelock and you see what the brochures leave out — rainforest running unbroken to the edge of the sand, mist still caught in the canopy, and a sea that changes colour three times before it reaches the reef.

Most of these islands are still forest. That’s not an accident, and it’s the reason the water looks the way it does.

Packing my bags and chasing new horizons! ✈️ 🌍 #TravelDiaries #delhidiaries #roseatehotels by @chillachi_shiva

Everyone on Havelock ends up here at the same hour.

Radhanagar at sunset isn’t a secret — it’s a ritual. The light goes gold, then copper, then gone, and for about twenty minutes the whole beach stops talking.

Go an hour early. Walk to the far end while the sand is still warm and the day crowd is packing up. That’s the part nobody tells you.

The islands don’t open up for everyone. They open up for the people who know them.

Harbour, boat, tide, timing. That’s the whole trick — and it’s the part no itinerary shows you.

Walk to the far end of Radhanagar, past where most people turn back, and the coastline bends into this.

Neil’s Cove. A half-circle of sand, water the colour of sea glass, reef you can read from the air, and rainforest standing right at the edge of it.

Most visitors never make the walk. That’s rather the point.

A note worth knowing: this is a cove for watching, not for swimming. Stay on the sand, go at low tide, and let it be what it is.

Some places survive the hype. Radhanagar is one of them.

You’ve seen it on every list of Asia’s best beaches, and then you stand on it: two kilometres of white sand, water that turns from glass to deep turquoise in the space of a few steps, and forest coming right down to meet it.

It doesn’t need a filter. It never did.

Low tide pulls the sea far back and the whole beach changes shape. Knowing when to walk it is the difference between a nice photograph and a morning you remember for years.

Save this one. You’ll want it when you’re planning.

Everyone lands in Port Blair. Almost nobody looks at it.

It’s treated as the airport you pass through on the way to Havelock. But give it a day: coastline the road never shows you, a sandspit that appears with the tide, forest that runs straight down to the water.

The islands reward the people who slow down.

Before the crowds. Before the sunshine filters. Before the season begins.

This is Havelock as few people see it: mist caught in the canopy, a lone boat drifting over coral, rock ledges the tide gives back for an hour, and surf that keeps its own time.

The Andamans aren’t one mood. They’re dozens, and knowing which one you’re walking into is half the magic.

We’ve spent over a decade learning the tides, the light, the quiet corners and the right moments on these islands. Season opens in October.
