So, what is Social Change?

Social Change is a Chicago nonprofit that helps people get the support they need and works to fix some of the bigger problems behind those needs.

We serve free meals and fresh food.
We help people clear old records.
We grow food at Social Change Farm.
We help people understand voting and civic issues.
We work with communities to change policies.
And we use stories, events and culture to change the way people think about what is possible.

Basically, we help people now while working to change the things that make life harder in the first place.

That’s Social Change. ❤️

Good food shouldn’t go to waste while our neighbors go without. Shout out to Forty Acres Market @fortyacresfreshmarket for allowing us to rescue this food. We placed in a love fridge 533 N Pine

Social Change’s food rescue work helps get surplus food into the hands of people who can use it. Every pickup takes coordination, transportation, and people willing to show up for their community. Thank you Christine @hijabikitty for all the help.

Thank you to the partners and volunteers who make this work possible. Want to help? Get involved as a volunteer, donate, or connect us with a business that has food to share. 💚 by @chisocialchange

Something as simple as a seed can do a lot of good when people put in the work. Today we built new trellises thanks to @illinois1867 and harvested the last bit of the garden leaving some for the pollinators squirrels & birds.

We are so excited for what next season brings. Support by donating, volunteering or sharing ❤️

Springfield, Illinois: your county sheriff is on the ballot.

Social Change recently brought volunteers together to phone bank, raise awareness about the Sangamon County sheriff election, and encourage residents to make a plan to vote. We also gave away free groceries to community members, thanks to AHF Food for Health.

Our nonpartisan voter outreach is still underway, and we’d love for you to join us! Need a space to phone bank? Join us at The Springfield Project, 1100 S. Grand Ave., Springfield, IL.

Comment “VOLUNTEER” and we’ll send you the details.
