The Toronto premiere is next week, a few tickets can still be claimed!

Make Banana Cry arrives in Toronto for the first time, Jan 14–17, 2026 at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre (@buddiesto).

A handful of tickets are being released so keep checking and claim your spot while you can. Check out our link in bio for tickets.

Co-created by choreographers Andrew Tay (@choreographyishappening) and Stephen Thompson (@stephen.c.thompson), Make Banana Cry is a genre-defying work that merges runway aesthetics with contemporary performance and dance. An international cast of six East Asian artists critique, parody, and protest stereotypes of “Asian-ness,” slipping between couture, contemporary art, spectacle, and satire. Sharp physicality, incisive humour, and an unrelenting examination of Western xenophobia.

Presented for the first time in Toronto following critically acclaimed performances at Impulstanz (Vienna), Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, and Festival TransAmériques (Montreal).

WITHIN PRACTICE - Stockholm Oct 2024. Finally, I'm getting around to posting some images from my Practice Presentation @mdtsthlm . Thanks to @heterbjorn @nordbergmovement for creating a beautiful community around thinking about practice. And special thanks to @lizkinoshita for supporting my idea to create a spontaneous Short&Sweet event from audience members in my performance. (And for guiding me through my anxieties).
