Granger High School Home Coming 2026. So, we are the parents that help PTA every now and then. With that being said, they were looking for volunteers for vision screening 9th graders this week. So I told Juan, let's volunteer and see if we can get our foot in the door to chaperone the Home Coming dance. It worked!!!! That day we got a call back from the teacher who organizes the dance. Juan and I were going to Home Coming too! The intent was to be able to watch Johnny celebrate, had he won prince. As you know, he did not win, and tonight we got put on restroom monitoring, far away from the dance floor. WTF?!? Hahahahaha! We all had a great time regardless. Johnny got to cruise the '57 this weekend and Juan and I went to our 1st school dance together. It was cool. It was cool. Something none of us will ever forget.

P.s. The theme to the dance tonight was Coast to Coast. Hence Johnny's captain attire. He cracks me up.

Pride doesn't even begin to describe what we feel. It's Home Coming week at Granger High and our boy, Johnny, was nominated for Hoco Prince. He's made it down to the top three and they were asked to make a shield that represents who they are so that the student body gets to know them better and for votes. This weekend was spent building the shield, just he and I. It felt surreal at times. I just stared at him with emotions I can't put in to words. Win or lose, he is the brightest star, shining on display this week. We don't know who nominated him initially. But I'm positive they saw the kind, humble, smart, talented and deserving kid he is. This week is his moment. Out of over 3,400 kids, his name is the one displayed for all to know or discover. He deserves this, even if he isn't confident enough to admit it. But I know he will never forget it. What an honor for us all. Good luck, my boy. If you only knew what your mom was doing at 16 years old. Hahaha! Way to break the mold. We love you!

In this episode of The Adventures of Chorizo and Vixen, The 2026 Ventura Nationals! Such a badass weekend that began Thursday picking up my ride or die from the airport in Ontario til 4 in the morning Monday when we pulled into our drive way....

It was chingon seeing all the familiar faces and making new friends.

The boys are back to school and mom & dad have our alone time back! This is great! Hahaha!

But for reals, sending them off yesterday is always a wild reality that they're growing up. Its Enos' last year of Elementary and Johnny's 11th grade ahead. I'm confident they both will navigate these formative years with good grades and positivity. They both have amazing support systems through solid friends and family. I love this for them, and I'm forever grateful for that.

Thinking about Speedweek this morning... Although races are still going on, I can't believe our weekend celebrating opening kickoff is behind us. We had a good solid crew with us this year. We made new friends and got to visit with old friends. We had surprise attendance from our pals, The Walkers from Grand Junction. The kids had a great time, and everyone in our crew stayed safe in the record temps. Sunday morning came too quickly and goodbye's are always rough. Til next year.....

This is the life we choose to live, surrounded by very like minded people. We are Greasers through and through. We work on our shit. We cruise our shit. And we take the risk of the drive in these old classics. Long roads or around the corner. In the end, its one big adventure.

This year driving to Bo's, we had a series of unfortunate events. I figured if you were watching my story, you would wanna know the ending. So I put together this video for you to enjoy.

Aside from our crazy adventure, being in Dragerton, surrounded by friends we've known for many moons felt like the biggest hugs and warm reunion. Always good to see familiar faces.
