Hello, hi!

I know a lot of you are new here and I’m so, so excited that I thought I’d do an introduction post.

My name is Melody! I was born in beautiful Hilo, Hawaii. I currently live in Huntington Beach, California.

I obviously am a huge fan of food, which is why I started my food blogging adventure. I like eating out, but also sharing recipes I cook at home. Spam musubi will forever be my comfort food. ❤️

Cooking aside, I am addicted to spin @bike2thebeatstudios. I’m there at least 5 days a week. So I guess addicted is an understatement.

When I’m not cooking or working out, time is spread between spending time with family, reading, and gaming.

Again, I’m so excited you are here. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions (food related or not), want to do a foodie meet up or if you want to have a friendly chat! My DMs are always open!

So happy to have you. I hope you like it here.

Ciao for now. ❤️

September was a WHIRLWIND.

My very first pop-up is officially in the books, and I’m still not over it.

On Labor Day Weekend, I sold out of my mini sourdough flights featuring regular, jalapeño cheddar, blueberry lemon, and Biscoff. Plus sold LOTS of cookies (sea salt chocolate chip & red velvet: my sweet little troublemakers)

I also had samples of my regular sourdough, jalapeño cheddar, and focaccia for everyone to try.

From late nights baking and prepping to seeing people enjoy something I made with my own two hands, this experience was equal parts chaotic, exhausting, and SO rewarding.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a treat, tried a sample, or showed love and support. You made my first pop-up so special, and I’m so excited for what’s next.

The first of many? I think YES.

Birthday dinner, but make it an experience.

Eight courses of beautifully crafted flavors at VIII by Selanne. From potato rösti & caviar to doppio ravioli, California halibut, and that gorgeous koji-aged rib loin. Ending the night with white chocolate, apple & walnut because apparently birthday calories don’t count.

Hello, 38. It’s going to be a good one.

Ever wanted to experience what it’s like to be in the cockpit? Now you can. @weflyaero makes it possible to do that.

The experience was fun and so unique. I enjoyed learning about the steps it took to fly a 737.

Let me know in the comments below if you would try it out.

Apparently it’s Eat an Extra Dessert Day and who am I to argue with the calendar?

One dessert is a treat.
Two desserts is self-care.
Three desserts… well, now we’re just committed. 😂

Consider this your official permission slip to have the extra slice, cookie, scoop, or whatever sweet thing is calling your name.

Life is short. Eat the extra dessert. 🤎

I recently had a delicious meal at Mama Lu’s Dumpling House in Tustin.

We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including juicy pork dumplings, chive & pork dumplings, beef roll, beef chow fun, hot & sour soup, string beans, and pork chop with Peking sauce.

The standout for me was definitely the pork chop with Peking sauce. It was so flavorful and delicious. The juicy pork dumplings were a close second because I found myself wanting more.

Beyond the food, the customer service was excellent and made the experience even better.

Thank you @mamalusdumplinghouse for having me.

Which dish are you reaching for first? Let me know in the comments down below.

A sandwich this good deserves a national holiday. Happy National Cuban Sandwich Day!

I remember my first cuban sandwich from Porto’s. After that, I never looked back. The crunch, the flavors of salty, smoky, savory, and tangy is just chef’s kiss.

So of course I had to try making one at home. My husband smoked the pork and I handled the sandwich making when it was done. It took a while, but it was so worth it.

Are you a fan? Let me know in the comments down below.

HAPPY NATIONAL S’MORES DAY!

If there’s one thing I will NEVER say no to, it’s anything s’mores! Give me the classic graham cracker + chocolate + toasted marshmallow combo, or put s’mores in a cookie, brownie, cheesecake, ice cream… I’m trying it ALL.

Basically, if it has chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker vibes, I’m already sold. 🤤

So tell me how are YOU celebrating National S’mores Day today? Making classic s’mores? Trying a s’mores-inspired dessert? Or going completely overboard like me?

It’s National Spam Musubi Day and I am SO, SO, excited for it! I grew up in Hawai’i, if you didn’t already know that and spam musubi is one of those things I am obsessed with. It is 💯 one of my top comfort foods and I won’t even deny it.

I always tell everyone that’s visiting Hawai’i that the best spam musubi, as weird as it sounds, are the ones from 7-11! If you haven’t tried theirs you need to. They’re the best ones aside from homemade of course.

If it’s on a menu somewhere, you can bet I am trying it. Yes, I will judge an establishment based on its spam musubi. 😅

How are you celebrating National Spam Musubi Day? Let me know in the comments down below.

It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! There are few things in life that beat a warm chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven and I definitely can’t think of any right this moment.

Golden edges, gooey centers, melty chocolate… it’s pure comfort in every bite.

Today is your sign to bake a batch, share a few (if you’re feeling generous ), and enjoy every crumb.

Now settle the debate:

🍪 Soft & chewy
🍪 Crispy & crunchy
