Studio Days 🎶
Every Friday me and @chrisjusticemusic get together to write tracks for sync pitches. Lately, we’ve been working on Christmas music. Sync is typically used for commercials, TV and film, so we typically write with that in mind. Here’s a peek into a day of finishing up vocals for a Christmas track. This has been a great exercise for me as a singer and a songwriter. 🎤🎶🎵 by @chrisjusticemusic

Here’s a bts of creating Christmas sync tracks with @chrisjusticemusic for the upcoming holiday season. Sync is written and recorded with the intention of being place in a commercial or movie. It may even only be a segment of the song, and not the entire song. Here’s a clip of our session in the studio today—doing ad libs and BG’s.
After we finish lead vocals, we usually work on BG’s (background vocals), and then most producers typically ask me to do a “go crazy Rachel” pass of Ad Libs to add to background/ layering of the track. 😆 I give several different options that could work, but we pick and choose the best to add to the track/final mix. Sometimes I go Ham (☺️☺️ no pun intended— my maiden name was Rachel Ham) and we have lots to choose from for the final edit. I’m currently teaching my kids how to feel more comfortable singing, and sometimes you have to try things you’re not sure you could even do. It may not even sound great when you initially try, but you can hone the skill and improve. We are instruments after all.. ☺️🎶 I’ve always loved that about singing. It’s especially nice to have a producer/writing and recording partner I feel super comfortable around. I don’t feel nervous or intimidated to give it a shot. haha 🎶☺️ 🎄 #sync #sessionsinger #studio christmasmusic by @chrisjusticemusic

Some songs tell you exactly who they’re about. This one doesn’t.

“Thank You” came from a place that’s incredibly personal to me — and there’s a much deeper story behind these words than I’m ready to tell.

Maybe someday I will.

For now, I’ll let the song speak for itself. 🖤

THANK YOU — 10.9.26

had to show ya a little bit of what we got at @pennsyltucky.jeannieseely today ♥️ what a special write

#countrymusic #songwriter #originalmusic by @chrisjusticemusic

over the last few years, i have learned about the immense legacy Miss Jeannie Seely created in country music. today, with two of my favorite people, i got to write at her cottage, “Pennsyltucky”.
when she passed last year, her goal was to make this cottage by the river a haven for songwriters! i could feel that jeannie magic all around us. it was truly a highlight of my life as a songwriter getting to sit in her chair and write at this amazing home ♥️

@michaelsaletamusic thank you for this by @chrisjusticemusic

6 nominations. 1 win. A whole lot of gratitude. 🖤✨

Still taking in this weekend at the @josiemusicawards .

I walked into this year incredibly grateful just to have my name called in six categories, and I walked away with the Songwriter Achievement Award for “Pick Yourself Up.” 🏆

And this one means a little extra.

“Pick Yourself Up” came from a real place. A low place. It was written through the kind of season that tests you, stretches you, and reminds you exactly where your strength comes from. To see a song that personal recognized for the songwriting behind it is something I’ll carry with me for a long time.

But these pictures are about more than the red carpet or the award. They’re the getting ready, the nerves, the laughs, the people beside me, the little moments nobody sees, and the reminder of how far this journey has already taken me.

I’m not doing this for a trophy case. I’m doing it because I believe songs can meet people exactly where they are. If something I write makes even one person feel seen, gives them hope, or helps them get back up one more time—that’s the win.

Thank you to everyone who has listened, believed, encouraged, prayed, shared a song, bought a ticket, or been part of this crazy independent artist journey.

Six nominations. One award. And I’m nowhere near finished. 🖤

Here’s to picking yourself up and keeping on going. ✨🏆🎶

Thank you to @chrisjusticemusic for producing this song! And for playing most of the instruments on this Song and Mixing and Mastering! Thank you to @b3feathers for laying down the B3 on this tune. It made it come to life! And a pad in the back to myself for playing the acoustic rhythm guitar on my tune.

Tonight was the @josiemusicawards Songwriter Achievement Awards at the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Hotel… and I’m still trying to take it all in. 🥹❤️

I WON the Songwriter Achievement Award for Pick Yourself Up. 🏆

This one hits different because Pick Yourself Up came from one of the hardest seasons of my life. It was a prayer put to music. A reminder to myself—and hopefully to anyone who needs it—that even when life knocks you flat, you can get back up.

To have that story recognized as songwriting means more to me than I can put into words.

And tomorrow… we do it all over again. 🤘🏼

The Josie Music Awards are at the Grand Ole Opry, and I’m incredibly honored to be nominated for FIVE awards.

Five. 😭

I’m walking into that room grateful. Grateful for the songs. Grateful for the people who helped bring them to life. Grateful for every person who has streamed, shared, played, believed in, encouraged, prayed for, and supported this crazy music journey.

I never started making music because I thought it would be easy.

I started because I knew this was what I was supposed to do.

So tonight, I’m celebrating one win… and tomorrow, I’m walking into the Grand Ole Opry with a whole lot of gratitude and a heart full of hope.

One song. One dream. One step at a time.

Thank you, God. Thank you, Josies. And thank YOU for being part of this journey. ❤️🎶 thank you @chrisjusticemusic for making this song come to life. Love you so!

Some songs are written to say goodbye.

Some are written to finally say thank you.

This one is both.

“Thank You” is deeply personal. It’s about looking back at the things that shaped you, the things that hurt you, and realizing they helped create the woman you became.

But this song isn’t the ending.

It’s the doorway.

Because what comes after “Thank You” is a side of me I’ve been waiting a long time to unleash.

The next chapter is louder. Rawer. Wilder.

And maybe… a little more rock ’n’ roll. 🎸🖤

“Thank You” is where the story changes.

Releasing October 9.

Presave link coming tomorrow.

And trust me… you’re going to want to hear what comes next. 🖤🎸
