One person was reportedly shot in the leg and chest near Bainbridge Avenue and East 194th Street in the Bronx. Their condition is unknown at this time. Multiple police units are on scene investigating. A separate person was also taken into custody, apparently after crossing the police tape. There’s no confirmed connection between that person and the shooting. by @christhecitizen

Sometimes you need a laugh like this to keep going. 😂 We hit 25,000 followers, and I appreciate every one of you supporting Chris the Citizen. No paid ads, no bought followers—just people showing love, sharing my work, and helping this page grow. We’re pushing toward a million, but I’m grateful for everybody rocking with me right now. 🙏🏽

This one is especially for the people in my circle who keep me grounded. I see a lot of pain, chaos, and loss while reporting in our neighborhoods, and that stays with me after the camera stops. To the ones who check on me, let me talk, and have me laughing like this when I need it most: you help me carry more than you know. I love and appreciate y’all. ❤️ by @christhecitizen

Watching this video of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong dancing at the airport when he arrived from Ghana last year breaks my heart. So much joy in that moment. A young boy with his whole life ahead of him. Now his family is facing a goodbye no parent should ever have to say. 🇬🇭💔

On the first day his father lost his son, Mama Donna and I stood beside him near Crotona Place and East 171st Street. We hugged him and tried to offer whatever comfort we could. There were no words that could take away that pain, but we wanted him to know he wasn’t standing there alone.

Together, we placed some of the first red, yellow and green candles in honor of Javits and his home country of Ghana. A small gesture of love during something so heartbreaking.

I’m sharing this video so people can see Javits enjoying his life. Dancing. Celebrating. Being a kid. That joy deserves to be remembered.

To his father, his mother and everyone who loved him: my heart is with you. Our community needs to keep showing up for this family, even after the cameras leave and the candles burn out.

Rest peacefully, Javits. You deserved the chance to grow up. 🕊️🇬🇭 by @christhecitizen

His identity and the circumstances surrounding what happened have not been confirmed. NYPD remains on scene as the investigation continues.

Please keep him and his loved ones in your thoughts. 🙏

This video is disturbing. An officer appears to slap a young woman so hard that she collapses. This is unacceptable. NYPD has to do better.

Wearing a badge means having the training and discipline to act professionally, even in difficult situations. Anger or frustration cannot be an excuse to hurt someone.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Women experiencing violence need to know they can turn to police for protection. Seeing an officer strike a woman only deepens that fear and damages the trust our communities need.

We should be able to expect professionalism, restraint, and respect from the people sworn to protect us. 💜

🚨🔥 BRONX — KATONAH AVENUE & EAST 182ND STREET

A huge fire broke out this morning, with FDNY crews on scene battling the blaze. The visible flames appear mostly knocked down, but heavy smoke is still pouring from the building as firefighters continue working.

Please avoid the immediate area and keep the streets clear for emergency crews. Be safe out here this morning, Bronx. 🙏🚒

🚨🔥 BRONX — A huge fire broke out this morning near Katonah Avenue and 182nd Street. FDNY crews are on scene working to put it out.

From what I’m seeing, most of the visible flames appear knocked down, but heavy smoke is still pouring from the building. Firefighters are continuing to work.

Give these crews room to do their jobs and avoid the immediate area. Be safe out here this morning, Bronx. 🙏🚒

🚨 BRONX — Ten shots rang out tonight near Westchester Avenue and Fox Street, leaving two people shot—one in the thigh and another in the foot. Both were rushed to the hospital by ambulance. From what I saw, both appeared likely to survive, but their conditions have not been confirmed.

This is the same block where 11-year-old Kyhara “Kyky” Tay was struck and killed by a stray bullet outside a nail salon in May 2022. A little girl with her whole life ahead of her. Her family and this community still carry that loss. 🕊️💙

These bullets don’t care who’s standing outside, whose child is playing nearby, or who’s just trying to get home. One reckless decision can change a family’s life forever.

We gotta do better as a community. Leave the bullshit alone. Whatever the beef is, it’s not worth somebody’s life—or another family having to bury their child.

Remember Kyky. Look out for each other. Y’all be safe. 🙏🏽 by @christhecitizen
