Getting back to instagram to celebrate the premiere of Les Filles du Roi. It's the first feature film I've worked on as an editor and I'm so proud of not only the work but the people who I get to celebrate this with, and the things I've learned in the process. Coming in at the tail end of this project, way after its successful theatre run, meant that I was handed an incredibly thoughtful, elaborate, and cared for production. I wanted to honor all the hard work cast and crew had put on it for so many years and challenge myself to meet their efforts and hopes for this movie. I'll be forever grateful to @coreypayette for his guidance and patience, and for welcoming me into his thought process, precise musical timing, and his eagerness to always learn and grow. I'm happy audiences get to see his vision for the future of his culture and the language he holds dear, shared through song. What a gift! Also many thanks to @ian.mroz for thinking of me, and to @ndiazduran for the constant company. If you're in Vancouver the premiere is this Thursday October 5th at SFU Woodwards, and a second screening is happening at the Rio on October 8th during @viffest Hope to see you there! Y a la distancia, gracias por apoyarme siempre, les mando un abrazo 🤗 🎬 by @christiandd8
