Opening: Wednesday, Nov 4th, 2026, 6.30 pm Exhibition: until Jan 23th, 2027
Artist Talk: Nov 22th, 2026, 3 pm

Following the exhibitions ,Bedingungen‘ (2018), ,Dazwischen, ein Echo‘ (2021) and ,Über Flächen’ (2023/24), ,Wendungen’ marks a new phase in Christiane Feser’s practice. At the exhibitions centre is ,Synonyme‘, a recently created photographic series in which Feser expands her artistic exploration of perception, photography and pictorial reality by introducing a new dimension: for the first time, colour takes centre stage in her work. In ,Synonyme’, the artist engages intensively with colour spaces, exploring their perceptual psychology and (spatial-)theory.

The motifs open up pictorial spaces that resist clear categorisation and invite ever-new deductions, speculations and fantasies. What initially brings to mind mountainous landscapes, velvet drapery or digitally generated computer worlds reveals itself, on closer inspection, as a pictorial reality constructed by hand by the artist.
Feser deliberately works with the tension between recognition and deception. In doing so, she continues a central question that has run throughout her practice while also connecting to a fundamental debate in photographic theory, significantly shaped by the American cultural theorist Susan Sontag: What makes a photographic image credible? And what is the basis of our trust in what we see?
Against the backdrop of the increasing proliferation of digitally manipulated and artificially generated images, this exploration takes on particular relevance today.

Have you heard of the Museum „Haus des Papiers“ in Berlin? In the current exhibition, which runs through December 6, you’ll also find some of my work:

The anniversary exhibition features the winners of this year’s Paper Art Awards: Dirk Krecker, Hideaki Yamanobe, and Inka Bell. The exhibition is complemented by works by the artists Astrid Busch, Christiane Feser, Cem Bora, Goekhan Erdogan, Harriet Groß, Hendrik Czakainski, Justina Moncevičiūtė, Leiko Ikemura, Sang Mi Lee, Philipp Hölzgen, and Xenia Lesniewski. In addition, two special exhibitions are on view: “Collage – Surface and Color” and “Fiber Future Lab.”

So if you don’t have any plans for the weekend yet, a visit to @hausdespapiers is definitely worth it!

Three small works titled Raumtest, created in 2010. Looking back, these works marked a transition between my earlier digital collages and the manually and temporally layered works of the Latent Constructs series, which I began in 2011.

Floris Neusüss and Christiane Feser
Unique Works in Photography

Von Lintel Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of works by Floris Neusüss and Christiane Feser, two artists whose practices expand photography into sculptural and materially inventive territory. Bringing together Neusüss’s pioneering photograms and Feser’s intricate photo-objects, the exhibition foregrounds singular works that challenge the limits of the photographic image.

Floris Neusüss, a pioneer of experimental photography, is celebrated for his rigorous exploration of the photogram, creating images made without a camera through direct contact between light-sensitive paper and objects or bodies. His works are distinguished by their immediacy, tonal complexity, and physical presence, making each piece feel both indexical and deeply atmospheric. In the context of this presentation, Neusüss’s works stand out as unique impressions that turn photography into a direct record of encounter.

Christiane Feser is known for her ongoing series of photo-objects, three-dimensional photographic sculptures that occupy the space between image and object. Her work transforms the photograph into a tactile, constructed form, often emphasizing surface, layering, and spatial illusion. Each work reads as a singular object in its own right, underscoring the hand-built quality and uniqueness of her practice.

Together, Neusüss and Feser offer two distinct but complementary approaches to the photographic medium: one rooted in the direct physical trace, the other in construction and sculptural transformation. The exhibition invites viewers to consider photography not as a fixed image, but as a unique object, a material process, and a site of experimentation.

At Von Lintel Gallery [@vonlintelgallery], photography takes on a more physical form.

Bringing together Floris Neusüss and Christiane Feser [@christianefeser], the exhibition explores what happens when photography moves beyond the flat image and becomes something tactile, constructed, and sculptural!

A pioneer of experimental photography, Neusüss created camera-less photograms by exposing objects and bodies directly onto light-sensitive paper, leaving behind singular traces of their presence. Feser takes a different approach, cutting, layering, and constructing photographs into intricate three-dimensional photoobjects that play with surface, depth, and perception.

Together, Neusüss and Feser offer two distinct approaches to photography that ask us to reconsider where the image ends and the object begins.
