POSTS STORIES REELS

Last Wednesday, January 8, 2025, I lost my mom to stage 4 lung cancer. Her celebration of life will be on January 25, 2025, in Las Vegas at 11 a.m. If you’re serious about coming, shoot me a DM, and I’ll share the address with you. I wasn’t going to share shit, but guess I need headcount and I’m in charge of this part.

A quick note about my mom: she wasn’t perfect—nobody is—but she was the best mom I could have ever asked for, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The past two generations of my family were full of trauma and abandonment. My parents and grandparents were all given away as kids, which, in Guatemala, was something you could do back in the day—it wasn’t like here in the States.

But my mom was the one who broke that cycle. My biological father… not so much. He was a piece of shit to so many people, and he can eat a dick. I’m just glad my mom and stepdad came together. My real dad (stepdad) didn’t just take in my mom; he took in me, my crazy ass, and my loving grandmother too. Together, we were a family.

My mom did what a good parent is supposed to do. She gave me the freedom to explore and learn on my own but guided me when I started falling off the path. She saved my ass so many times—whether it was getting me out of handcuffs, giving me a dollar when I needed it, or helping me get through college. She supported my entire fight and martial arts journey and even encouraged my wild idea to open a White Castle at 15 years old when I had no idea what I was doing. And now supporting me leaving corporate, pursuing coaching and my start up companies. She let me believe I could do anything.

She never abandoned me. She always went the extra mile, and I think it was because she knew what abandonment felt like. Losing her means I’ve lost my last true full-blood family member, and that hurts. But I’m comforted knowing she’s in a better place and no longer suffering.

Te amo con todo mi corazón, mamá. May you be at peace and with Ita. You’ll forever be in my heart and thoughts for as long as I live.

All the work and all the great people coming into my life naturally, thank you. But it was nice to turn the noise down for a couple of days and reset with the fam out in the woods.

Happy to share that Monica came out with the TKO victoy. Thank you to her opponent as well stepping last minute due to an unfortunate fight drop - but at the end of the day too, you can see it’s all respect. Moni had a tough fight camp - but she committed to the fight and stuck it through. Thank you to everyone at the gym who helped her prep for this, to our fight squad BVNG OUT crew, coach Jessie & Steph, and to the folks over at @victoryfightteamsd, thank you for the hospitality and for helping her with sparring over there too! It takes a village sometimes.

Thank you to @united8federation for always putting on a great event! We love it there!

Sin City will never be the same, we coming for that strap! by @chriswidlowski

Proud of all of these 4. They all fought and trained hard for this event and couldn’t be anymore happier with their outcomes and not based on the fight results. Who gives af about that, some of them tested their perseverance, their own self doubts, pushing their bodies to make weight, etc. they all had their own battles aside from the fight themselves and they all overcame it. They won 4 of the 5 fights. We win and lose together. Back to the drawing board later as these 4 get to enjoy some time off.

All the lessons they learned in this tournament, they can apply to their personal lives. Myself included, I learned some things this past weekend that I can take from as well. Always a journey, always a lesson - no matter what stage in the journey you’re in.

Congratulations to these 4 again 👊 by @chriswidlowski

Words can’t bring a thug back, but I just want to pay a TRIBUTE to the homie, Joyce aka Thug Luna 😤

She was an original and an OKG vet, she was the head of the ladies Muay Thai program, she was a fighter in and outside of the ring, and tough as motha fu**a. But aside from all that, she was a great mother, a good wife, and a good friend!

One my first experiences knowing that Joyce was a real one was like 15 years ago or something. She was getting into with another group who were fkn with her and her friends and then all the okg goons stood up and started getting into it with the other squad. After that, Joyce and I hella connected 🤣 and through all of our life’s ups and downs, she was always there for the downs and I was there for her too. When we both dealt with our own shit we would hop on calls and talk for hours.

And whatever I say on ig won’t paint the full picture of how beautiful of a person Joyce was. If she loved ya, you knew it and if she didn’t…well…you would know that as well. Love ya Joyce, thanks for always keeping it a buck with me. You will be missed by so many because you touched the lives of so many people and that is very powerful. You were a gem and we all appreciate you so much. Thanks being our gym mom too and looking out for all of us!

To the Luna fam, I know how it is and my condolences to you. You are all loved as well and also part of the okg fam too. Remember that. May you rest well and look out for your loved ones up above 🕊️ by @chriswidlowski

Out of these 3, who would do the BEST in a street fight? 👊🏻 Vote below ⬇️ 1 , 2 or 3❓ by @chriswidlowski

Being a professional in this sport goes a long way, whether if you are an amateur or professional. Listen to Bout Scout’s CEO & Founder talk about why it is important and from his own experience going from being a fighter, to coach, and start up founder.

Promoters, Matchmakers, Coaches, Managers, and Fighters - do you agree? What’s your experience and preference?

Big things are coming! 🚀
Rich Chou has been helping us behind the scenes since early this year. Having him advise/work with us as we scale is a total game-changer. 📈

Between his current role as VP at MMA, Inc. and his years at Bellator and Strikeforce, his knowledge is helping us take Bout Scout to the next level.

Also, huge shoutout to the legend Mayhem Miller for hanging with the squad!

We’re building the future of combat sports infrastructure. Let’s get it.
