Why we are not an #organic farm. #1. They own the word and I think that's dumb #2. They take a percentage of your sales and I think that's dumb #3. Factory chickens can be certified organic with the proper loopholes in place and I think that's dumb #4. The amount of paperwork required for small farmers to be "O" is so insane that it almost takes another full time employee just for the paperwork. THATS DUMB. 5. I hate dealing with anything within the government and their bureaucrats. They're dumb! by @chucktownacres

Final photo dump from my time at Chucktown Acres. 🌾 It is incredibly special to have local farms near Charleston that welcome the community in and are transparent about the food they provide. Alex and his family have created something meaningful and refreshing, rooted in honesty, ethics, and care for what they do. Thank you again to the Russell family for welcoming me in! Support your local farmers! by @chucktownacres
On the Featured Stage, Alex Russell is revealing to small business owners where their food comes from and how it fuels them. Alex is the owner of @chucktownacres , a regenerative farm started over 5 years ago in Mcclellanville, South Carolina. Personally, he’s our go-to protein farmer. Through his insights you’ll become confident in avoiding the corruption in the food industry and learn how to build a relationship with the right farmers in your local area. As a small business owner, health has a big impact in how you show up for your customers, team, community, and family. We’re grateful for honest small business owners like Alex, who have a drive to save the soil of America and grow healthy food. This is the American spirit we want to preserve at A Future Fest. This new farmers market in Charleston might just be my favorite one yet! 👩🏼‍🌾🥕🥚💐 It’s full of vendors you can trust purchasing clean produce, meats, dairy, eggs, bread and even pesticide free flowers!! It’s happening every Wednesday from 3:30-7PM through the end of October, but maybe if the community expresses how bad we want it to stick around, they’ll continue through the end of the year?! Hosted by the wonderful @basic_kitchen! #cleaneatingdiet #holisticlifestyle #holisticlivingtips #supportthefarmers #livelovelocal by @chucktownacres
