Congratulations to Melizah Anguiano Wheat for her premiere in the first collective exhibition at the Modern Eclipse Gallery! Thank you to everyone who visited and engaged with us on First Friday @bluestarartscomplex in @upstairsatbluestar.

It was a delight to have the company of my sister, who isn't always available to be here in her home, city of San Antonio.
Melizah was born and raised in San Antonio until she moved to do hair in film opportunities.
I used to say my sister lives everywhere, because she did pursuing her dream of becoming a master stylist for film and television. After years of creating for T.V series such as Prison Break, Nashville, American Horror Story (circus), Stranger Things, True Detective, Doom Patrol, to name a few, she also styled for films such as Girl Boss, Twilight, Idiocracy, Suicide Squad, to name a few... there's actually too many to list.
Melizah has currently wrapped up "Weapons" and is receiving mass recognition and fans are digging the iconic character Aunt Gladys. The crew's creative direction for character / period styling in the film is receiving multiple nominations in the instant cult classic. I'm excited to see Melizah shine as she and Weapons crew is nominated for a Guild Award this season.

That being said, a personal passion of hers has been to create her own story telling through her new expression "Chula Restoration" @chula_restoration by creating and designing assemblage art pieces highlighting design influences.

Growing up with Melizah, and watching her at a distance was a true mentor for me. She is the most dedicated, innovative, hardest working person I know, aside from our mother.

Everytime I think of that saying, -"Everyone wants the trophy, but they don't want to run the race" comes to my mind, I think of her ...You have to EARN it.

This post is dedicated to our beloved mother Maria Yolanda Anguiano who lives beyond the galaxies. ✨️🎉
