"'Little witch all alone?'"⚰️ I can't believe that spooky season, my favourite time of the year, is already coming to an end. I am clinging to my horror movies and pumpkin spiced treats in desperation. Though to be fair, winter approaching means I could potentially take pictures of Bryan Hodukavich in the snow if we are lucky so...THE HORRORS PERSIST AND SO DO I! As an early Halloween gift, here's an Emilia picture with some eerie vibes! I think it a hundred percent captures Emilias emotions once her sister was deceased and her world flew off its own balance. I had set myself the goal this year to experiment more with facial expressions in Cosplay posing, since I got tired of my usual, neutral model face expression. And especially in this photoshoot it absolutely paid off! There is so much desperation, sadness, isolation but also intrigue and cunning in the images @knipzah and I had captured that evening. Which I truly believe I was only able to portray because I felt so comfortable and safe to express myself with him behind the camera. So this is yet another proof that chemistry matters so, so, so much when it comes to photography! Especially if you want to dare and try out scary, new things. "You really shouldn't have flung that match. Now you'll feel her burn."⚰️ No matter how long it's been since I've read Kingdom Of The Wicked, I will always and forever have a weak spot for book one Emilia! She had such a distinct nature and I felt so seen in her. So I was extremely delighted to return to her this year for a photoshoot with @knipzah ! Especially since we tried to capture the vibe of a Palermo autumn during a Leipzig spring. Gleefully, I dare to claim that we have succeeded with this task. The warm lights coming from the inside of a church, the far away street lamps and the real candle burning in my hands made for some exceptional mood summoners. Though I have to admit I was a little scared of the candle in particular at first. Because when I was a kid I had accidentally burned my face while blowing out a candle since the force of my breath was too strong and made hot wax fly up onto my cheeks. @knipzah however showed me that there was nothing to fear, for I was in control of the candle. By the time the dripping wax had reached my hands, it had already cooled enough to not do me any harm. And so this image came to be, of a frightened Emilia (and a frightened Cilly as well). "Alina Starkov was our age when she was martyred. She was just a girl, and she sacrificed herself to save Ravka and destroy the Shadow Fold."✨️ Last picture of Alina for now but I still have a LOAD of images to share for her. It is a Cosplay that I didn't expect to shoot this much already in the span of the two months that it already exists now. But ay, she is quite popular with photographers it seems! Just two weeks ago, she got to become part of a project by @kadeart.leipzig titled Coslights, where he combines the portrayal of Cosplays with the practical work of lightpainting. And it was such an interesting photosession compared to the more regular ones. I did know a little bit beforehand about how it works to lightpaint because I had done a workshop for it as a teenager. But during that time I was the one behind the camera. Now, standing in front of the lense, I learned about the other side of it which left me with some tense muscles afterwords because you have to stand incredibly still for something like this. INCREDIBLY. STILL. But the results turned out so crazy and befitting of Alina that I am already on my tiptoes for these images to release! Even more exciting is the fact that the Coslights series will be shown as an exhibition in a gallery! So needless to say, the hype is huge and if you have a chance, you should definitely check it out when the time comes! "'To some, I was a soldier. To others, a weapon. Few even considered me a saint. But in the end, only one thing was for certain: I am Grisha.'"✨️ The love I feel for this picture is so immense! Not only did I finally manage to take some pictures with @xaiguemarinex aka the person who basically invented the blueprint for bookish Keftas, but also with my dear friend @cassandrasterling1 who I had been daydreaming to shoot our Keftas with ever since mine was in the baby shoes and who has honored me with accompanying this Keftas journey on a bi-weekly basis throughout all of the six months! We three met on Saturday at the lovely @bookcosplaymeetup and got these shots at the big fountain at the Arcen castle. And this bookish meetup, dare I say, was such a place of love and appreciation. Everyone looked marvelous, so many fandoms came together and it felt like such a safe and sound space in the fantastical turmoil Elfia can sometimes be. And I even got to meet some other Grishaverse Cosplayers who did an amazing portrayal of the Crows! Plus, they had a Jan VanEck. ICONIC. This bookmeet proved to me once again that our fandom is still alive and kicking! So I need to say a huge thank you specifically to @raptorfromhell who had the idea for project "Bookcosplay Meetup" and made sure that bookish Cosplays are heard, seen and appreciated in such an empowering way. Here's to yet another one next year! (P.S. The quote in the beginning is for once not a @lbardugo quote but my own wording. I used these words during my competition performance voiceover to show both Alinas story and her view on herself!) “The stag had been showing me my strength. Not just the price of mercy but the power it bestowed."✨️ MISS SPARKLINA STARKOV EVERYONE! The Kefta that I dedicated half a year of my life to. 21.600 rhinestones, 253 hours of work. My most ambitious project to date. Back in 2024 she started out as a random joke between @simplydifficultcosplay and me. She had tried to convince me to buy a bedazzler and her selling point was that you could practically bedazzle EVERYTHING with it. Ironically, we then came to the conclusion that even a Kefta could be bedazzled. But boy oh boy that idea never fully left my mind since then. So when I was considering, what type of Kefta would be the most gorgeous to bedazzle, my heart knew the answer right away: Alina Starkovs Sun Summoner Kefta. For those who don't know: In the books it is implied that Grisha don't simply summon magic. Instead they actively manipulate the already existing particles around them. This being the reason why their powers are also referred to as the Small Science. So wouldn't a Kefta which bundles and reflects light from outer sources be the perfect functional battlerobe for someone like Alina? OF COURSE! And the most fun part about all of this is, that it spiked my creativity in Kefta making even more! From now on, every Kefta I am handmaking shall have an element to itself that reflects the powers it is connected to! So stay tuned for more Keftas! Rumour has it, a certain storm witch is currently causing a whirlwind in my mind. ⚠️TW: Fake Weapon⚠️ "'Bet he's not part of the rescue squad.'"🏍 Last Claire picture from @contakumd and I am absolutely astonished about the growth of this Cosplay over the span of the past couple of months. There is such a jump from the first version I did at Shiroco to this one at Contaku and then to the version of her I did for the photoshoot during @knipzah week! While the first development concentrated itself on more details for the costume, the second development was all about getting bolder with my makeup for Claire and daring to pose even more dynamic. It's insane! I have never noticed the growth of a Cosplay of mine this fast. Next week, I don't know yet what Cosplay I want to present to you, since I still have pictures from Faba, Knipzah Week 1 and 2 and now Elfia as well! Needless to say that 2026 has been a prosperous year for photoshoots! ⚠️ TW: FAKE WEAPON ⚠️ "'Do you want me to take care of this for you, little boy?'"🏍 @knipzah week is over and today I am heading off to @kingdomofelfia which I am extremely excited about since it will be one of those events where most of my friend group will be assembled! Last week, Knipzah and I took some incredible pictures of my Signa, Alina and Claire Redfield Cosplay. And once again it cemented in my mind why Claire is my new favourite character to Cosplay. Since I have played from her perspective, it was very easy to tap into her emotions and mindset when I was acting infront of the camera. Plus, she is quite similar to me in character already. We're both determined, follow the core values of wanting to make the world a better place and even incorporate that in our work mission, stand up for what's right in our eyes, are spontaneously funny and often loghtheartedly sacracstic and deeply rooted within our love for our families. And let's be honest, red suits us very, VERY well. Another thing worth mentioning is, that it is so easy to move in this costume compared to a Kefta. A true blessing! Though fear not, for I am already planning the next Grishaverse projects! Something, something, Stag and a rose Kefta, something. "'Come on Chris, where are you?'"🏍 May I introduce you to my new favourite Cosplay? A moment of silence for Genya.... When I first started playing the RE Games, I completely fell in love with Claire as a character. But there wasn't really a design of hers that fully spoke to me. Well...until Capcom released the first sneak peaks of the Code Veronica Remake! That one had me jumping to action immediately. The dark red leather jacket with the wing pin? The western style holsters? The slightly sleep deprived look? MAN THEY GOT ME HOOKED. So instead of doing one of my Cosplans of 2026 (Resident Evil really messed with those plans) you get yet another Resident Evil character to enjoy! And this one was already on a journey. My first leather jacket for her was a bright red fake leather jacket I thrifted on Vinted. Sadly though due to me sweating a little bit in that Cosplay, the leather started to peel unpleasantly and I had to discard it. After that, I opted for a wild leather jacket which was A) more comfortable to wear and B) couldn't peel off. The pin was selfmade, I had made it out of a foam sample I had received years ago via Foamlord and gutted a "This is the skin of a killer." button I had laying around for it. The choker used to be my Redbull Cosplay choker which I removed the can caps from and added a foam piece too to mimic the tracker. And the wig was my old Jude Duarte/Nina Zenik wig which has been through the ringer and deserved a retirement already but had gained the perfect structure for Claires hair over the three years that I constantly wore it. So even though this was a pretty spontaneous project, I still got to upcycle a few materials in the process! ⚠️TW: Fake Weapon⚠️ "'Guess that's a locals way of breaking the ice.'"🧬 Fun Fact: That water drop was very real and hit the prop in the perfect second! @bookbash.festival is over and I am currently working on some recaps as well as an overall review. I even got a tiny microphone for it! But what I can definitely say is that my heart is so full of love after this weekend! I met so many lively people, got to hold my first ever workshops, had a panel talk with two of my Cosplay idols, held a Calanmai which was an absolute success plus I won second place in the advanced Cosplay competition with my Sparklina Kefta WHICH LEIGH BARDUGO SAW! And the best thing about this is, that I got to share all of these core memories with my darlings @millaniumcat_cosplay , @soulcatcher.cosplay and @orpheus_vom_dienst . So thank you to everyone who spent some time with me at Bookbash! You made this a core memory!💕 Character: Leon Scott Kennedy Fandom: Resident Evil 4 Event: Alte Fabrik Studios Rental 2026 Cosplayer: @cillyscos Photographer: @karinas_sichtweise #residentevil #leonkennedy #cosplay #gaming #residentevil4 by @cillyscos
⚠️TW: Fake Weapon "'Well, I wanted to go home, but Ashley just had to see that castle first.'"🧬 Woop woop! Leon picture number two out of an infinite folder of gorgeous pictures by @karinas_sichtweise ! Have I ever told you about this prop gun? No? Well, then it's about damn time! Right when my hyperfixation for Resident Evil kicked off, I had a chat with @ak.props about the weapons in the games and he just casually mentioned that he has the original RE4 Leon gun as a prop which he has made a while ago. I was absolutely flabberghasted looking at the craftsmanship and love for detail that went into it. Skipping forward to my birthday this year, my friends blessed me with a bunch of very personal and heartfelt gifts. So imagine my surprise when I got handed @ak.props gun, alongside a RPD police badge and the damn parking permit from RE2R! My friends always like to state that I am easily brought to tears, which of course also happened when I had this secret gift put into my hands, RIGHT after I said I wouldn't cry. But ay, sometimes this is just the way things go when you feel so full of love and gratefulness. So PLEASE check out the incredibly brilliant @ak.props if you've got some time to spare for without him, this shot would have been only half as badass! You won't regret it. "'Rain or shine, you’re going down!'"🧬 This was a very spontaneous photoshooting. We organised it in under a month or so. But it's now one of my top ten of all times! Especially since I got to spend it with some wonderfully creative and talented people! Since LBM this year I have upgraded my Leon Cosplay to a proper version. So it was deserving of a proper photosession as well. AND BOI, this one was so much fun! Not only did we have the most badass industrial set and bar to take pictures in, we also had an entire rain shower to ourselves. A RAIN SHOWER. After having shot with multiple water setups I can with full confidence say, the rain shower was my absolute favourite. Even though some of the raindrops very aggressively fell straight into my eyes. I was so extremely immersed in it emotionally, especially since we went full on stormy weather with it, that it was almost weird to step out of the set and get dry again. My current ranking is probably: Rain Shower > Lake > Watertank. Now I am very excited to see in what forms I will be able to use water again in the future! And I am also stoked to take you on a further journey about this photoshooting in the upcoming weeks! "I am the library and the librarian, hoarding lives, a catalog for the faithful. Erase my name."🪶 What the actual freaking fireball?! It is with great disbelief that I announce that my Sparklina Kefta is officially finished! And man am I speechless. I have spent the past HALF YEAR dedicating at least an hour a day to bedazzling this garment. Sometimes, on weekends and during this summer, it was up to 6 hours without break. I watched the entire show The Handmaids Tale while bedazzling the back of the Kefta and also dove into many, many, MANY YouTube videos about Resident Evil, film reviews and documentary topics. This has been a loving, breathing constant in my life for SEVEN MONTHS IN TOTAL. So how can you tell me now that it is done? Finished. Just like that. Though this might be the end for my crafting journey with the blue Sun Summoner uniform, I already gathered some ideas for future Keftas so that they can have a magical element implemented into them as well. Especially a Squaller and Inferni Kefta have caught my eye with some neat special effects! So stay tuned for there I might channel the small sciences once again, sooner than expected.
