Photos you can feel… ❤️

The night we arrived, Kawaguchiko was swallowed by a blizzard. No mountain. No sky. Just white. Everything blanketed in snow ❄️✨

For them, it was the first time they’d ever seen snow fall like that, fascinating, a little scary but somewhat beautiful. The kind of beautiful that makes you forget you’re cold ✨

We almost called off the proposal shoot anyway as we aren’t sure if the shy Fuji-san would show the next day.

But somewhere between midnight and morning, the storm quietly cleared.

I got everyone to step outside to see a world had been remade. Fresh snow as far as we could see, and Fuji standing there like it had been waiting for them all along.

Maybe that’s what love looks like too. You don’t always get clear skies. Sometimes you drive into the blizzard not knowing what’s on the other side. But you stay and when the storm clears, you find something more beautiful than you planned for.

Some proposals have the perfect backdrop. Despite all the adversity caused by the weather, this one earned it.

Congratulations, K & J. 💍

There’s a version of this shoot where they look perfect and completely dead inside (ahem…po..posed…)

We’ve all seen those photos. Stiff smiles. Hands that don’t know where to be. Two people performing a couple instead of being one.

What I’m after is something else. The frame is intentional. What’s inside it isn’t manufactured.

I gave them directions, not poses. Small things. Real reactions. Their chemistry did the rest.

Swipe through. I broke down the two styles I work in and what they actually look like when they’re working together.

And oh! Let me know what you think about this post too!

Love in motion 💨

Grateful for everyone I got to work with this past year. Thank you to the couples who ran, dipped, twirled, jumped and skipped on demand, no questions asked 🫶

Motion has quietly become the heart of my work lately.

Stillness matters too, but I’ve stopped posing heavily so I can leave some room and space for the genuine in between moments to happen 🤟 by @cj_photo_works

Love in Motion 🎥 💕 ✨

Someone once told me I help them feel like a kid again. I invite couples to play, and what I want is to catch the joy they felt in that moment. I’m super glad I could do so in this session.

Congratulations on your engagement💍✨, you lovely happy campers! 🥰

My sessions are usually a mix of spontaneous moments between quiet and chaos and A & E got it 😂

Congrats on your engagement guys 🎉✨🤟

Ever seen two people get caught in the rain and not care? That’s the idea for this shoot.

Rain or shine, which weather are you hoping for on your session day? ☔️ ☀️

Forget a thousand words. This is a whole romcom 😉

This couple’s energy was pure fun date night, so that’s the direction I gave them. I don’t follow Pinterest poses. I watch how a couple actually is together first, imagine what they’d do if they were the leads in a movie, then direct them toward that.

Every couple is different, so every session ends up different too. Let me know which photo you like best!
