Mums on the Mat is back for November, and I’m soooooo looking forward to bringing everyone together again. 🫶

This time, we’ll be at Connect Pilates Studio at Al Habtoor Polo Club for a morning of mat Pilates and sound healing.

We’ll move, slow down and take a little time for ourselves before heading over to Naas for coffee, a bite to eat and a good old chin wag.

• Sunday 22 November · 9:30am

• Beginner friendly, and no experience needed.

• Just bring your grip socks, a blanket and some water. I’ll take care of the rest.

• 195 AED per person. Spaces are limited, so book yours through the link in my bio.

Looking forward to seeing you there 🤍

Pilates is much more than a workout.

It’s about the mind-body connection, slowing down and understanding your body. Building strength, improving mobility, finding what works for you and making time for yourself. And sometimes, it’s about finding your community too.

That’s a big part of why I started Mums on the Mat. I wanted to create a space where mums can come together, enjoy some movement, meet other mums and have a little time that’s just for them.

In Dubai, life goes fast (hands up who feels like they’ve pressed fast forward 🙋‍♀️). We all need that reminder to slow down and do something for ourselves.

Move. Breathe. Connect.

Our next Mums on the Mat event is coming up and details have been released in the WhatsApp community. Click the link in my bio to join 🙌

Mums on the Mat is about creating a space where we can come together, take a little time for ourselves, meet other mums and feel part of something.

I’d love you to be part of it too. Find our WhatsApp community through the link in my bio and be the first to hear about November’s date and details! by @clarecook.pilates

Mums on the Mat

A space where mums can take time for themselves, connect with other women and feel part of a community.

It’s a chance to slow down, move your body, meet new faces and have a little time that’s just for you.

We know motherhood can feel busy and sometimes lonely, especially as an expat living in Dubai, so having a community around you really matters.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped bring this vision to life. I can’t wait to keep growing this community and bringing more mums together.

Our next meet-up is coming in November, and if you want to be one of the first to know when our monthly meets ups happen, join the WhatsApp group which is linked in my bio.

Move. Breathe. Connect.

See you on the Mat 🤍

Take time to breathe 🤍

When life feels busy, overwhelming or like your brain has a gazillion tabs open… come back to your breath.

Make your exhale a little longer than your inhale.

It’s the simplest reset. 🙏

Looks easy. Pfft try it 😏

Something I tried in classes recently that got the inner thighs working gooooood.

Being strong doesn’t always have to look dramatic.

And honestly, I love exercises like this, just controlled movement, a bit of focus and suddenly you’re questioning why you thought it looked easy.😅

And remember this this one - the lighter the spring the harder it gets🔥 IYKYK

How do I explain this feeling?

That feeling of slowing down, moving with control and actually feeling connected to your body.

Finding strength on the mat, without weights, without loads of equipment, just you and your body.

More space. More freedom. A calmer mind.

And especially as a mum, there’s something really special about having time to move, breathe and just focus on yourself for a while.

That’s what I want my Pilates sessions to give women. The chance to feel strong, connected and good in their bodies again.

Teaching a class and you’ve planned swan, but you have a mama-to-be in the room?

This is a variation I love using with expecting clients to help them find some extension through the spine, while keeping the exercise super familiar and accessible.

The great thing is, your cues can stay the same. I’ve simply added shoulder presses to layer the movement.

A little teaching tip: set the rest of the class up first, then go over to your mama-to-be and help her into position. And the same when she’s stepping out of the exercise. Depending on how far along she is, she may need a little extra support.

For the instructors — what other variations do you love using with your mums-to-be?

And for the mamas — I see you. 🫶

Taking time to move during pregnancy isn’t always easy, especially when some days the last thing you want to do is exercise. Keep encouraging them, keep them safe and let them know they’re doing something really positive for themselves.

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

The dowel = proceed with caution ⚠️

I’m having such an amazing time this summer, traveling with my family and catching up with friends, it’s all been sooooooooo much fun. However I cannot wait to get back to a routine and back to the studio teaching. 🙌

I am starting to put together new routines - let me know your favorite pilates prop and you might see it in your next class. 🤍

The therapy you didn’t know you needed.

Movement isn’t just about building strength, it’s also about creating space to breathe, slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Pilates encourages us to focus on our breath, our body and the present moment, helping us mums shift out of the constant “doing” mode and into a more calm regulated state. (Which is very much needed on a daily basis 😅)

We, as mums, we spend so much time caring for everyone else, so having a moment in our day to reconnect with ourselves is soooo powerful. Remember when we’re happy - the whole family is happy.

Pilates can be more than just exercise is can be your reset. 🫶

You don’t have to become someone new. You just have to start showing up for yourself.

Movement has the power to change so much more than your body. It improves your mindset, your confidence, your energy, your posture and how you show up for your family.

If you’re ready to prioritize yourself, then I can be here to guide you.
