@clay__inc has rebranded @kwangjuyo_official, a Korean ceramics house founded in 1963, around the climbing kiln where the brand began. That kiln, reconstructed in 1962 as a 12-chamber stepped structure, became the source from which the whole identity grew. Its ascending architecture is translated into a Hangul logotype, drawn from the three characters of 광주요 (Kwangjuyo), where the middle vowel of each falls on a shared horizontal axis. Clay made Hangul the brand’s primary mark, replacing an older Chinese-character seal, as a way to give a globally facing ceramics brand a recognisably Korean identity. The signature red comes from jinsa ware, a copper-oxide glaze tradition where the colour depends on the kiln’s conditions and a measure of chance. As Clay puts it, “it is a colour that belongs to the fire and kiln as much as to the maker.” ——— Explore the full case study at our link in bio. ——— CREDITS Design: @clay__inc Brand: @kwangjuyo_official Typography: DIN 2014 by @paratype and Hallym by @yoondesign_official Strategy: @bemyguest_project by @clay__inc
