Come hang out with me at focus groups to talk about this insanely important topic: how AI will impact the novel and publishing. This is such an important issue. Storytelling is at the core of our entire existence and the use of AI in our industry will affect us all in one way or another. Can’t wait to get people involved, to hear what you have to say, and to hopefully amplify your voices! 🩷 LINK IN BIO if you’re interested in focus group participation by @clementine.i.taylor

One of my reads while I was in Italy was Green Dot 🟢 which I had been so excited to dive in to. Such an interesting story of a young woman in Sydney who falls in love with a man at work. He turns out to be married and it narrates their affair. Took me a few chapters to get into it, but after that I couldn’t put it down. Had to keep the light on after my sister fell asleep next to me 😂 It really captured that sense of how maddening and obsessive love can be, it was hilarious, it was frustrating, it was addictive. Loved it loved it 💚🟢 by @clementine.i.taylor

🕰️ MINISTRY OF TIME 🕰️ Three of my dearest friends bought me this book (looking at you Jo, Amanda, Paul, you angels) and Jo and I read it together, all of which made this an extra special read. I absolutely loved it, especially as Jo saw such interesting things in the text and the story that I wouldn’t have picked up on otherwise (big up co-reading forever).

Although I don’t read a lot of speculative fiction/sci-fi, I absolutely fell for the premise and the elements of romance and comedy in this book. There are so many beautiful, complex sides to this shimmering jewel of a book. I thought that Bradley so skilfully brought in the serious, sombre topics like the climate crisis, the British empire, corrupt governments, and wove them into a story with so much humour and heart and raw emotion. I am literally always here for a slow burn romance (always) and this element of the book did not disappoint. Who knew I was so in love with a woman from the 17th century (Margaret has my heart) and an Arctic explorer from the Victorian era (wow)?

There were a lot of plot reveals concentrated towards the end - natural with these sort of part-thrillers I guess - and I was quite heartbroken by the end, but mostly in a good way. I had a pretty sleepless night after finishing it, thinking of how this fits in to all the intricacies of time travel and the wider meaning of the themes in the book. A really incredible book and such a stunning debut! 🤌🏼 by @clementine.i.taylor

💛 YOU ARE HERE 💙 One of the all time masters of storytelling has, unsurprisingly (and yet again), written an absolute stunner. I read this in one obsessive gulp while (whilst? Need Marnie) up in Yorkshire. I felt almost as if I might come across Marnie and Michael on the hills in their raincoats or tucked away in a cosy pub.

I’m constantly in awe of David Nicholls’ writing - it is so beautifully crafted and balanced. Humorous and tender, evocative and subtle.

I loved this story and the characters so much - they really captured my heart and I found the book totally heartwarming, moving, unputdownable. Such a special love story, set over a long walk across the most gorgeous countryside - would *highly* recommend 🌳🌿🍃🌱 by @clementine.i.taylor

💙 BLUE SISTERS 🩵 I read this book in June and cannot stop thinking about it. The richness of the language, Mellors’ ability to conjure a scene and make you feel that you’re there, the characters (the characters!) who feel so real and complex. Just stunnin. Such a wise and sensitive portrayal of being human, grief, addiction, identity, and sisterhood (wow, the love for your sister resonated deep). Beautiful, thank you Coco 🦋🪼🐬💧🫐🧊💎🧿 #bookstagram #bluesisters #cocomellors #bookrecommendations by @clementine.i.taylor

🍏🍎 6 MONTHS SINCE MY GAL HAS BEEN OUT! 🍎🍏
Can hardly believe it. I’m still pinching myself. Honestly, I am SO flipping grateful to all of you for buying and reading, and for the love, encouragement, warmth, and support. So appreciative of the lovely and generous reviews, because it is always the best hearing that the book resonates with people, AND also appreciative of the not so lovely ones, for keeping me humble and learning (always!). Here are some highlights - from being one of the 5 Times popular fiction picks for November 2023, to realising I’ve written a pretty divisive ending (no ma’am!), to the most unreal cover cake you’ve ever seen (Joanna, you outdid yourself, a future bake off star is my prediction). Nothing but excitement for the ongoing life of Something About Her and for the writing to come! Big love and huge thanks to YOU x by @clementine.i.taylor
