NEAR is down 8.5% in 24 hours. On the 4-hour chart, the drop started with one candle.

On 2 Nov at 04:00 UTC, NEAR printed a bearish belt-hold. It opened at 4.298, a tick under its 4.300 high, and closed near its low at 4.108. Cleo’s Belt-hold indicator flagged it.

That candle gave you a level to be wrong at. A stop above 4.300 risked 0.192 from the close. NEAR has not traded above 4.16 since. The low so far is 3.742. That is 1.9R.

The catch: Belt-hold fired 11 times on this chart in two weeks. The pattern is not the trade. The stop is.

Also reported on 2 Nov: NEAR’s House of Stake passed a cut to maximum annual issuance, from 2.5% to 1.6% over 24 months. No official source links the price drop to the vote.

Swipe for the data. Belt-hold and 60+ other candlestick indicators are on the Cleo chart at cleo.finance.

Past example for education. Not a trade signal or financial advice.

ZEC fell 13% amid a dispute over Zcash's grant fund.

Zcash is a privacy coin. Part of each block reward funds Zcash Community Grants (ZCG).

Reported: Zcash's co-founders disagree about the future of that fund. A draft compromise is on the table, but it is not approved. A large holder known as "Big Z" exited ZEC over the dispute.

ZEC dropped from $1,284 to $1,120, its lowest since 24 Oct. Reported: about $13.6m of positions were liquidated in 24 hours, about 88% of them longs.

Next: the NU7 network upgrade is expected on 5 Nov (reported). A final decision on the fund would remove one reason to sell.

This week’s high-impact macro calendar. All times CET. US clocks changed on Sunday, so American releases are now an hour later in Europe.

Tue 3, 04:30 — RBA rate decision 🇦🇺
Tue 3, all day — US Congressional elections 🇺🇸
Tue 3, 22:45 — New Zealand jobs 🇳🇿
Thu 5, 13:00 — Bank of England rate decision 🇬🇧
Fri 6, 14:30 — Canada jobs 🇨🇦
Fri 6, 14:30 — US jobs report 🇺🇸
Fri 6, 17:00 — BOJ Governor Ueda speaks 🇯🇵
Fri 6, all day — New Zealand election 🇳🇿

The midterms are an all-day event rather than a timed release, so the market reaction usually builds overnight as results come in. Friday puts the Canadian and US jobs figures in the same 14:30 slot.

Decide in advance which positions stay open through a release and which do not. Spreads can widen and price can jump past your stop.

Save this for the week 📌

Have you seen what the pros do? They have multiple exits on every position. That way you don’t have to be 100% right and suffer full drawdown every time you’re not.
Layered take profits is one thing you can implement in your trading today and potentially perform better in your prop challenge. Give it a shot?

BNB is still 4.7% below where it was before the Binance hack.

Reported: Binance reopened withdrawals in phases from 1 Nov. In 9.5 hours users withdrew $4.65bn and deposited $1.01bn. That is a net outflow of $3.64bn, about 2.1% of Binance's assets. Binance says flows are now stabilising.

Reported: the FBI attributed the 29 Oct attack to TraderTraitor, a North Korean hacking group. Binance says it has replaced about 95% of the stolen funds and will carry the cost itself.

Next check: Binance says its full proof of reserves will be ready by Tuesday 3 Nov (UTC). Until then, the cost figures are Binance's own numbers.

BNB fell 9% in one hour after reports of a Binance hack.

Reported: late on 29 Oct, attackers drained Binance hot wallets. Early estimates range from $2.5bn to $6.3bn. Binance put the impact at about $6.3bn and said about $3bn is frozen.

Reported: Tether and Circle froze more than $2bn in stablecoins. Binance paused withdrawals and said it will cover user losses with its SAFU fund and company money.

The whole market fell with it. BNB dropped from $745 to $678, its lowest since 1 Sep. It is now about $708.

Final loss figures are not confirmed yet. Wait for confirmed numbers before you act on a headline.

Alphabet reported earnings last night and #googl fell about 10% after hours.

On the 1H chart, CLEO had flagged an Evening Star at the top hours earlier. Bulkowski’s data says it reverses an uptrend 72% of the time.

The drop was the tiny earnings miss, not the candle. But it’s a good reminder that automatic detection can be very usefull when waiting for big news. by @cleo.finance

$INIT is up 55% to its highest price in a year, one week after a $2.7m exploit 📈

Reported: the Initia Foundation approved funds to cover the shortfall.

27 Oct close: $0.166
High: $0.258
Now: $0.227, 12% below the high

The catch: reports say the chain has not finished its audited restart yet.

The Fed held. Bitcoin gave it back.

Reported: the Fed kept rates at 3.75% to 4% in a 10 to 2 vote. Lisa Cook and Beth Hammack wanted a quarter-point hike. Chair Kevin Warsh said the Fed's "monetary medicine" is starting to work.

Bitcoin rose to $81,759 after the decision, then fell back under $80,000 overnight. Breadth went from 41 coins up yesterday to 9 today.

Reported: analysts called it a "hawkish hold". The next Fed decision is on 9 December. More than $11bn of Bitcoin options expire tomorrow, 30 Oct.

$PEPE is up 15.7% in 24 hours, its highest level since 23 Oct

Reported: a wallet linked to Justin Sun holds about $51m of PEPE, about 2.8% of the total supply (Arkham data).

Open interest is up 27% to $102m. Open interest is the value of open futures positions, so more money is now betting on PEPE’s next move.

The catch: a known whale can pull buyers in. It can also sell into the rally.

Charts from the Cleo terminal, 1-hour candles.
