💥Want to get involved in ClimbOut in 2027? ClimbOut will be celebrating its 5th birthday in 2027! This is a huge milestone and we’re on the lookout for some new volunteer organisers to help deliver a festival in 2027. To share your interest click the link in bio. ➡️ What are we thinking for 2027? ClimbOut is an entirely volunteer-run festival. After 4 amazing years some of our organisers are taking a break for 2027 to recharge. Our plan is to deliver a slightly scaled back festival in 2027, at a new venue, with the aim to return to Thornbridge in 2028. ❓Who are we looking for? ClimbOut was formed by a group of like-minded, climbing-obsessed volunteers who came together to make climbing more diverse, empowering and accessible. We are looking for people who share these values and want to help us achieve our mission: bringing queer joy to climbing. We want to hear from anyone who is interested. Please get in touch even if you are unsure about what you can contribute. We will do whatever we can to make sure everyone can contribute. We want our volunteer organising team to include people from diverse backgrounds and who bring diverse thinking to ClimbOut. The volunteer organising team is currently underrepresented in the following areas and we would particularly like to hear from: - Global majority - Women - Disabled people CONTINUED IN COMMENTS Photo credit @roxannagbaz by @climboutfest
📣 In just over 6 weeks, ClimbOut is bringing ClimbOot to the Scottish Highlands! So we thought we'd take this opportunity to reintroduce ourselves 👋 🌈 ClimbOut - UK’s first LGBTQ+ climbing festival - is bringing the climbing and queer joy northwards in the form of ClimbOot, Scotland's first LGBTQ+ climbing festival! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The ClimbOot volunteer organising crew is made up of Scotland based climbers, with a drive to build a wider and more connected queer climbing community in Scotland! After approaching ClimbOut CIC with this vision we are now one big family, working together to celebrate LGBTQ+ climbers throughout the UK and create a community centred on the intersection between queer joy and climbing. 🎟️ Tickets are still available… So guys, gals and non-binary pals, bag one of the remaining tickets and let’s rope up, get out there and bring some queer joy to the mountain crags of Scotland! Our Worn Wear repair crew parked up for a weekend full of free repairs at ClimbOut Festival (@climboutfest) in the UK’s Peak District. Rips were stitched, holes were patched, and zips were fixed on hundreds of items of well-loved clothing—keeping your favourite climbing gear going for many more sends to come. Thanks to everyone who brought us their busted stuff, or just stopped by to say hi.    What’s more, our radical repair techs got the chance to tie-in after their shifts at the sewing machine, sampling some sport lines and trad climbs together with our community in the spring sunshine.   Couldn’t catch us at ClimbOut? Our repair tour rolls on! Find out where we’re headed next at the link in bio.   Content: Rox Barry (@roxannagbaz) by @climboutfest

🌎Festival Map & Parking Info 🌎 All the details are on our website (link in bio) 🏕️We have three camping areas: two standard areas and one quieter camping area. You can choose where you want to pitch your tent when you get there. 😴Please be respectful of others who may need more rest than you, and remember to bring your earplugs! 🚗 PARKING INFO 🚗 ⚠️There is very limited car parking near the main buildings at Thornbridge. This is reserved accessible parking for those who need it. ➡️The main parking is in a field less than 3 minutes walk from the main buildings. ➡️Approaching from Bakewell, take a left on a small track with a gate. Look out for volunteers and our pride flag! Continue on for accessible parking. ♿For accessible parking continue on and turn left towards the gatehouse. Pass through the big gatehouse building and turn left again to find a spot. ❓Can I sleep in my vehicle? If you prefer to sleep in your vehicle, there will be a section in the main car park where you may do so. But note that it will be further away from the facilities. #Climbing #ClimbingFestival #ClimbOut #ClimbOutFestival #BMC #BritishMountaineeringFestival #AdventureAwaits #OutdoorCommunity #LGBTQ+ #QueerClimbing #LGBTOutdoors #QueerOutdoors #GayClimber #LGBTClimbers #QueerClimbers #DiversifyClimbing #DiversifyUKClimbing #DiversifyOutdoors #RepresentationMatters #ClimbersOfColor #ColorTheCrag #BrownGirlsDOClimb #BlackRockClimbers #Paraclimbing #DisabledClimbers #ClimbersWithDisabilities #TransClimber #TransAthletesBelongInSport #NonBinaryClimber #QueerClimber by @climboutfest

Mornings saved! 🎉 Our knight in shining coffee is stepping in last minute to bring us coffee, matcha and other delicious hot/iced beverages on Saturday! (Micael will also join us on Sunday if he can, TBC) by @climboutfest
♻️ Rubbish, recycling and zero waste to landfill ♻️ We’re working with Peak Waste Recycling to make sure the rubbish from the weekend is handled as responsibly as possible. Waste collected from our skips and bins is sorted to recover as much recyclable material as possible. Wood, metal and plastics are separated by machine. Everything else is removed by hand. A magnet captures scrap metal at the end of the process. Anything that can’t be recycled is used to generate energy instead of being sent to landfill. That means zero waste to landfill, more recycling, less pollution and better use of resources. But we’ll need your help. Please use the right bins, separate your waste where possible, and keep the site tidy so the team can recover as much material as they can. A small action makes a big difference: recycling just one plastic bottle can save enough energy to power a 60-watt light bulb for three hours, while recycling paper uses around 70% less energy than making it from raw materials. Pack it, sort it, leave no trace. 🌱 #ClimbOut #ClimbOut26 #LeaveNoTrace #RecycleMore #QueerOutdoors #ClimbingCommunity #SustainableEvents #OutdoorCommunity by @climboutfest
🍩🌶☕ FOOD AT CLIMBOUT While there won’t be a communal meal this year we will have three fantastic vendors to keep you fed, caffeinated and hydrated. All of our vendors offer vegan options and we hope there will be something to everyone’s taste and dietary needs. The Echilady (Friday to Sunday) @‌enchiladymcr Michelle and the team will be sharing a little piece of Mexico with us through authentic home cooked flavours, all gluten free! The Deaf Chefs (Saturday to Sunday) @‌thedeafchefs Coco and Mandy will be serving us a range of delights including burgers, fries and some hearty morning fare. Their work isn’t just delicious, it’s part of their mission to celebrate the Deaf community and BSL, all from their bright yellow truck. Java John’s @‌java.johns.uk Ready for the morning rush. Expert barista John will be keeping us in, coffees, teas, juices and pastries, served with pride. by @climboutfest
