As the costumes come out and the spirits awaken, we wish you all a very happy Halloween! 🎃✨

As you may know Halloween roots right here in Ireland, in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. A time of folklore, fire, and the turning of the seasons, its traditions have travelled through generations and across the world.

This coming week, we invite you to celebrate those roots with us at the Clonakilty Samhain Festival, where Irish culture, mythology, music, and community come together to bring ancient traditions to life. ☘️

Join us from 5–8 November as we celebrate the stories, spirits, and traditions that have shaped Halloween as we know it. Discover the magic of Samhain in Clonakilty. We can’t wait to see you there!

Preparing for Samhain. 🌾 The preparations are already underway. We’re taking a step back in time, rediscovering traditional harvesting techniques and putting them to use as we harvest and dry materials for Clonakilty’s Samhain celebrations this November.

There are so many people behind the scenes bringing this ancient tradition back to life and creating something truly special for our community. And this is only the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be following the journey as Clonakilty prepares for one of the biggest nights of the year: the Samhain Parade. A night that brings people from near and far together to celebrate tradition, creativity, culture and community.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this year’s Samhain yet again possible and helping keep these traditions alive in Clonakilty.

Stay tuned. The journey to Samhain has begun. 🔥

Autumn has arrived in Clonakilty. 🍂 School has started, shops, hotels and cafés are adapting to the season, while the morning routines stay the same. The rain is back, there’s a crisp breeze in the air and the leaves are starting to fall.

It’s the transition into autumn that prepares us for the darker season ahead, with plenty of cosy spots to gather around town. It’s the season to connect with friends after a busy summer and to bring a little bit of calm back into our routines.
