It’s been a while since I’ve had time for fun mending projects. This one was a Christmas gift for a friend. It was so nice to save her favourite jeans, in fact she may even like them more now! It’s not that hard, it just takes a little time. I’m really happy with the results. Let me know if you try it. #Sashiko #mending #visiblemending by @clothingreincarnated

The numbers are in! What a day. 💚 Because of this incredible community, the Spring 2026 Great Halifax Clothing Swap made a real impact: ✨ $4,000 raised for @isans.ca 👥 580 attendees, volunteers, and family members 🧵 12 garments repaired by Friendly Mending 🔌 530 lbs of electronics collected for recycling through our partnership with @recyclemyelectronics 👕 7,600 lbs of clothing processed (in a single day! 🤯) 🔁 86% of items found a new home Every donation, volunteer shift, repaired garment, conversation, and swapped item helped keep textiles in use and out of landfill while supporting newcomers in our community. Thank you for showing up, participating, and proving once again that grassroots, community-led initiatives can make a real impact in our communities. ♻️ And thanks to our amazing team of volunteers and Executive Committee, without whom this event could not happen 🙏🏻 We are already looking forward to the next one! I spent the past few days at the Textile Recycling Expo in Charlotte, NC. From insulation and automotive materials to emerging recycling technologies, there’s no shortage of innovation happening around textile recycling. But the reality is: the end markets for post-consumer textiles are still catching up to the scale of the problem. At the same time, I left feeling incredibly hopeful. There are so many brilliant people working on solutions across the value chain, from reuse to recycling to entirely new material systems. It’s a challenging space to be in, but also an exciting one. I can’t help but be a textiles nerd! by @clothingreincarnated

We believe that building a better future is a creative act. As an official screening partner for National Canadian Film Day, we've curated a special night at @patagoniahfx that’s all about connection, not just climate. 📽🍿🤗 We’re using the legendary story of Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie as a spark for the kind of local dialogue Kjipuktuk (Halifax) needs right now. But...the real magic happns after! We’ve invited sustainability expert Charlotte Genge to lead a chat on circular living and how we can actually protect the places we love. 🌏 Whether you’re a sustainability pro or just looking for a fun night out, there’s a seat (and free popcorn) waiting for you. 📍Patagonia Halifax | April 15 Doors at 7:00 PM Cost: FREE (Registration is a must!) As a non-profit, we rely on community support to keep these creative spaces free and accessible for everyone. registration link in our bio.
