📸 Before the White House, there was Central New York… Long before Yoichi Okamoto entered the Oval Office with a camera, he was finding his way in Central New York. At Colgate University, in the ballrooms of the Hotel Onondaga, and inside a Syracuse newsroom, he learned to watch closely and catch the moments that others missed. His extraordinary career did not just pass through this region, it began here. Yoichi Okamoto: Photographer in the Service of Democracy is on view now at Art in the Atrium at 201 E. Washington St; FREE to the public through November 15. We are pleased to offer extended hours for this exhibit: 📅 Wed–Fri: 12–6pm
📅 Sat–Sun: 12–8pm Learn more and explore the exhibition at 👉 yoichiokamoto.com Credit: L.B.J. Presidential Library / photographs by Yoichi Okamoto / ©Okamoto / Austrian National Library #photographerintheserviceofdemocracy #cnyarts #artintheatrium #syracusehistory #yoichiokamoto by @cnyatrium
