This was before cell phones, social media, texting, or posting everything online. We were just kids who came outside every day, rode our bikes, built jumps, raced, laughed, competed, and made friendships that have lasted a lifetime. We even made our own newsletter to talk about what was happening at T.O. — Thousand Oaks School — where a bunch of kids somehow created our own little BMX world. Seeing my name, Howard, still printed on this page after all these years is something special. These are the kinds of memories that helped shape my life. Be on the lookout for my upcoming book, Two Wheels, Two Roads. 📖🚲 I’ll be sharing the whole journey — from being a kid growing up in Oakland and discovering BMX, through the difficult roads I traveled as a young man, becoming a father, rebuilding my life, returning to BMX, and eventually using bikes to give back to the next generation. It’s more than a BMX story. It’s a story about childhood, choices, consequences, family, friendship, second chances, and never giving up. Sometimes an old piece of paper can bring back a whole lifetime of memories. T.O. — we were outside! 🙏🏿🚲 #TwoWheelsTwoRoads #BMXHistory #TOBMX #OaklandBMX #OldSchoolBMX ComingSoon mystorytotell by @coach_cato68

🥇Gold Cup & 🥉State in an epic weekend at my home track @north_bay_bmx! I raced my first BMX race ever at Napa in July 2024 & today I got to put down my fastest lap there ever — the best feeling all weekend 💪 Great weekend of family, friends & BMX — all my favorite things! by @coach_cato68
It’s finally about to happen, my life story on a hard copy to be read all over the World. These last 3 weeks have been challenging to my brain, my eye sight, my memories and of course being happy to be able to share my life with you! Things are all coming together and should be in my hands very soon! #thisismystory #bayareabmxers #FloodTheStreetsWithBikes#bmx#bayarea by @coach_cato68
