What a wild ride this season has been, and all I can really say is thank you!

Thank you to my coaching staff, Mr. Jefferson, Coach SK, and Coach Steven, for helping us on this journey. From planning, scouting, and strategizing, I will be forever grateful.

Thank you to our managers and digital creators for being there day in and day out, keeping track and cherishing moments of our story. We appreciate your presence, and please support our local media!

Thank you to the families and supporters for being there with us every step of the way. Without you, none of this would be possible. Your support has built such a community for Churchill Basketball, and I hope you had as much fun this season as we did.

Lastly, thank you to all the players for entrusting me to coach you as a first-year senior head coach. Thank you for sacrificing your time, energy, and effort for the chance to achieve something great this year. We didn’t end with a banner or a provincial appearance, but we achieved something greater. You have set the foundation, the start of something new. A new era of Churchill Basketball. Showing teams that we are a program to watch out for. And showing the next generation what a great program Churchill Basketball can be. I will cherish all our experiences, memories, and relationships we have made through this journey. I am so excited to see what the future has in store for all of you, and I will be one contact away if needed.

I am truly blessed to be a coach. Being able to compete in the sport I love, building lifelong relationships, and helping the next generation become great people on and off the court. The game is so beautiful, and I am so grateful for the role I get to play within it.

What a great way to end off our regular season by having our last game as senior night. I would like to thank these young men for their hard work and dedication. Not only this year, but throughout their whole high school basketball career. I’ve had the pleasure in coaching majority of these seniors the last couple of years and words cannot put into perspective how proud I am. They have been an exceptional group on and off the court, enjoyable human beings to be around, and respectful and kind hearted people since I’ve known them. I’m grateful to have been part of their journey and excited to see what the future has in store for them!

But we ain’t done yet. Now we get ready for the most important month of the season. Next week we compete for that city banner and make our efforts to continue our season to the very end. To my guys, this ain’t no front. We right here, right now. And let’s search and destroy whoever in our way…

I would first like to give glory to god for blessing us with this monumental achievement. Secondly, I want to give a huge shoutout to everyone that came to cheer us in this championship game. Last but not least, I want to say how grateful I am for all the support from the players, parents, staff, and most importantly, my co-coach Andrew. None of this would have been possible without everyone’s contribution. From the late nights, early mornings, distant travel games, and countless hours of hard work brought us this banner! Word cannot truly explain how proud I am of these boys. Who are turning to young men right before my eyes. From holding training sessions/open gyms at sunset, to being a consistently dominant team in dream hoops, to putting our name out there in tournaments, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve had the honour of coaching this Henderson group since they were grade 5 and I am grateful to have been their coach. It wasn’t all smooth sailing. So many deep conversations , consequential cardio, and altercations through the years. But if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change a thing. These boys have taught me more about myself then they know and I hope they can take a thing or two from these seasons and apply it not only on the basketball court but as contributing individuals in society. As you enter your new high school lives I want all of you to remember to be true to yourself. Always believe in your potential but be respectful to everyone, life will work out after that. I hope this is not the end and I am so excited to see what the future has in store for you all!
