POSTS STORIES REELS

As I look back on my career, I can honestly say I have had a BLAST! But you never want to settle in life—you always strive for more, continue to grow, and look for new opportunities to make an impact.
In life, there is always a beginning and an end.
Twenty years ago, after Redford High School closed, I stepped foot into Henry Ford High School as a young pup, determined to become the best educator and coach I could be. During my tenure, I had the privilege of building one of the most successful and respected programs in the city and state. More importantly, I was blessed to build relationships and positively impact countless students, athletes, families, educators, and colleagues along the way.
Today, I officially close that chapter of my life.
This past basketball season, I stepped down from my position at Ford to accept an assistant coaching position at Schoolcraft Community College. Now, I will also be stepping down as Dean and Athletic Director as I begin my new role as Project Manager in the Office of Athletics for Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD).
In this new athletic administration role, I will have the opportunity to touch all aspects of athletics across grades K–12 throughout the district. I am excited about this next chapter and the opportunity to continue serving students, supporting coaches and educators, and helping strengthen athletics throughout DPSCD.
As this chapter closes, I want to sincerely thank every administrator, principal, teacher, coach, staff member, and—most importantly—the students I have had the privilege of working with over the past 20 years.
I am incredibly thankful for every relationship I have built, every lesson I have learned, every challenge I have overcome, and every memory I will carry with me. And while one chapter is ending, I know the relationships and connections will continue to grow.
DPS/DPSCD has been very special to me. It has been an incredible part of my life and career, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to serve this community.
Here’s to closing one chapter with gratitude and beginning another with purpose.

Words can’t express how grateful and ecstatic I am to be recognized as one of the greats to coach in our historical district. When I became a head coach in 2005 , I never thought last night would have ever happened but you never know gods plan. I appriciate the calls, texts and love from EVERYONE that came and supported me last night‼️

The A-Team is growing!

Welcome Ken Flowers!

How do you feel about this next stage in your Athletics journey with the district that you've spent 20+ years pouring into?

I feel great about this stage in my journey in athletics because it gives me the opportunity to engage with even more students, staff, coaches, administrators, and community partners throughout the district. While I valued my time at Henry Ford High School, where I recently served, I’m excited to broaden my impact and build meaningful relationships across the entire district.

The @fordhighmbb page is no longer being run by Coach Ken Flowers. Moving forward, this page will be operated by Henry Ford High School and the new Head Coach, Warren Jackson.
We want to wish Coach Flo nothing but the best in all of his future endeavors. His two decades of dedication, leadership, and unforgettable memories will forever be a part of the history and legacy of the Henry Ford basketball program. 🏀
Now, Coach Warren Jackson is up next, and he is already off to an amazing start as he takes the reins and leads the program into its next chapter.
Best of luck to Coach Jackson and the entire program! The work starts now. 💪🏾🏀
Let’s keep building, keep believing, and bring home another State Championship in the future! 🏆
