POSTS STORIES REELS
Calm before the storm… @coachswis getting in some miles before his date with an Assault Runner This Saturday, 11.07.26, @roasterbarbell he will be taking on an indoor backyard ultra challenge consisting of 4.17 miles every hour on the assault runner until he can no longer run that amount in the allotted hour. Not only is this challenge enduring, but it’s also for the same charitable cause as @hellonhogsback (the Nelson family foundation) How far will he go? by @coachswis
Less than One Week Out! High Noon next Saturday 11.07.26 I begin my journey into the unknown as a tackle an indoor assault runner backyard ultra challenge. 4.17 miles every hour on the hour. Each 4.17 miles is called a yard. How far will I go? Unknown. But your pledges for each yard will help me dig deeper and endure. Thank you to the 18 sponsors who have pledged a yard. $700 pledged so far. I would love to pledge over $1000 by next Saturday! Every yard I finish I earn those pledges. Every dollar raised benefits the Nelson Family Foundation. Their foundation helps incredibly courageous people battling cancer pay for their treatment. The link to pledge a yard is in my bio. Together, we will do this. I thank you for your support. It means the world to me. Let’s Get It! 🔥🏃‍♂️💪🏻🐗🤝 @hellonhogsback by @coachswis
An October to remember. The amount of days we’ve had with sunshine and ideal fall temps? Absolutely blessed. Spent a little bit of the early evening at one of my favorite places to train 🐗❤️🎃 #hogsback #fallvibes🍁 #sunnydays☀️ by @coachswis
Coming up on three weeks out until my next ultra running challenge. I appreciate my friends who have pledged a yard so far, and for their confidence (or maybe taking a gamble lol) that I will make it to Yards 21, 23, and 24. I took a picture of Yard 17 because this distance distinguishes what would be my new PR in furthest distance completed. Everything beyond is truly uncharted territory. So again, my three friends who have pledged have given me a reason to push through when I know I will start facing mental challenges through the night and I’m alone on that assault runner. I’m asking 21 more friends/family to sell out the first 24 yards and make a pledge and sponsor a yard to help give me more mental energy to run with a purpose. I thrive off of this. The thought of stopping and quitting is silenced when I know I’m running for something bigger than me. Your pledge and donation will not be collected until I earn it through completing the yard you selected starting November 7. The Nelson Family Foundation (Hell on Hogsback) is an incredible local non-profit helping cancer patients with funding for treatments they need in their battle. More information on what they are all about can be found at the link below: www.hellonhogsback.com I ask that you please consider supporting so we can help future patients in their fight ❤️ #endureforcancer #oneyardatatime #indoorbackyard @assaultfitness https://tinyurl.com/jeffsbackyardultra Thank you for your time 🤝❤️🏃‍♂️ by @coachswis
11.07.2026 My Solo Indoor Backyard Ultra Challenge Goal(s) 1 - To go until I can’t anymore 2 - Raise funds for the Nelson Family Foundation (@hellonhogsback) At this time in four weeks I’ll be on Yard 9. What is a backyard “Last Person Standing” Ultra? You complete 4.167 miles, starting at the top of each hour. Any remaining time you have when you finish, you rest, eat, work on your body, whatever, until you must be back at the start when the bell rings the top of the next hour and you’re off again. Normally, you’re competing against others, and you keep going until you can’t anymore. And if you’re the last one to do so, you win. All others “Do Not Finish” What is unique about the backyard ultra I’m doing - I’m running it solo, and indoor on an assault runner. To the best of my knowledge, a max distance effort has never been tried on the runner. The furthest I’ve ever ran is at the 2026 Hell on Hogsback 12-hour race where I completed 68 miles. On Nov 7 I plan on crushing that distance, and while doing so raising funds for a non-profit that means the world to me as well as the people who started it. You can support by sponsoring a specific “yard” or giving a general sponsor/donor. Every $ raised will go directly to the Nelson Family Foundation. I’m doing some final updates on the event link. Once that’s finished I’ll post and share it by tomorrow. The link will also be in my bio tomorrow. With your help and support, we will surpass 100 plus miles and raise a lot of money that will help families battling cancer 🤝❤️🏃‍♂️🔥 Thank you to Pete and @roasterbarbell for allowing me to use the assault runner to get this done! LFG! #endure #forthosewhocant #fcancer #backyardultra #solo by @coachswis
10.04.2026 The feeling of the sun’s rays hitting the face cannot be matched. Taking it in and enjoying the warmth it provides. Grateful for this moment. ❤️ by @coachswis
Closed out September with a 6 “yard” practice on the assault runner. 25.02 total miles then 20 min sauna sesh right after 🔥 I have to say, the hardest part from this week and last week’s practice is running at a lower tempo pace and walking to make sure I stay around 45-47 minutes/yard. I do like the 3 min run/walk. It keeps my mind engaged as I try to hit a certain distance while maintaining a lower average heart rate each yard. This is fun! Looking forward to the 8 yard practice next week! Also, somewhat good news as I received an email response from Assault Fitness stating they can’t confirm no one has tried this, but have no record of anyone contacting them that they have! So, I very well could be the first! But, I need to do more digging! Love it! Finally, as September comes to an end I am finally going to ramp up my discipline with my fuel intake and keep it as clean as possible again. It was nice not to care as much this past month about eating certain stuff and drinking energy drinks again… but honestly I’m so looking forward to not feeling like crap so often when waking up these last 30 days! It’s freaking go time baby! LFGGGGGG! 💪🏻🔥🏃‍♂️🤝🎃 by @coachswis
Saturday 11.07.2026//12:00PM//@roasterbarbell I have decided to take on one more challenge in 2026. Originally, I was going to take the rest of the year off, just train, and focus on 2027. However, I got bored and wanted to do something different and fun. So, I’ve decided to do a solo last man backyard ultra-style event on an Assault Runner. I’ll be doing this at Roaster Barbell, starting at 12 p.m. on November 7th. I don’t have a set goal of how far I want to go, but a milestone is 24 hours, which equates to 24 “yards”, which would be 100.8 miles. However, if I’m feeling good enough, I will not stop there and will keep going. I will be doing this for a non-profit that I’ll be naming soon, because all these challenges that I have done over the years, I always do them for something more than me and for something more than running. It gives me purpose. It drives me. It helps me keep going. To my knowledge no one has ever attempted to go as far as they can in this format specifically on an assault runner. If I’m wrong, please let me know! I have sent out a few emails, but haven’t heard back. Am I insane? Maybe. Probably. But this is the kind of challenge that excites me. How far I can push: mentally and physically, running in place on an assault runner. In 41 days, we will find out 🤝 LFG. by @coachswis
People have differing opinions on social media posting and putting yourself out there. How much is too much, and who really cares? Personally, I respect those who do post and those who choose to work in silence and stay off of social media. I appreciate the people who post and put useful content out there such as their training methods, mental approach to training, and even what gear and supplements they use. That’s what I like to see. People putting their journey out there. No bragging, no negativity. Just showing that hard work and consistency can pay off. That’s why I post. I’m an average, everyday human. I’m not elite. I try and do hard things that challenge my mind and body. I choose to share my story because I hope to show those who care to follow that it can be done and you don’t have to be this incredible athlete. I really think 2027 is going to be a special year. I share this because it also helps keep me accountable. I plan on doing my first backyard ultra in February. I am working on organizing an incredible team ultra RV experience in Oregon next summer. I plan on doing my first 100 miler at Burning River end of July. And most important to me still, is going back to Hogsback and finishing better than I did this year. Seeing everything I have planned, I know it’s going to take a lot of work to get to the place I want to be and compete. I have a lot of internal drive. I think I’ve proven that. But I also know I can’t do all of this alone, and this is why I choose to share my Why. The running and fitness communities are special and so important to me. I’m incredibly blessed to be part of some pretty elite crews. Elite meaning an incredible blend of genuine personalities, caring, fun, fit, hard working humans who help push me to be my best every day. I can’t do this alone and I know I’m not alone in this feeling and that’s why I choose to share my journey. Because I hope I can help be that push that someone needs on a random cold rainy day where they may not feeling like going out and moving. Let’s get after it today, friends! I look forward to seeing your progress! 🔥 by @coachswis
Hitting your goal after months of prep feels amazing. Getting to relax and enjoy some things this past week has been nice. Running starts again tomorrow. September will be a month of chill training and planning. October 1 - it’s go-time once again. This is my 2-0 Press Conference Kobe Speech - “Jobs not finished” 2027 is on the horizon and it’s going to be an exciting year of training, growth, and competition LFG #contrasttherapy🔥💦 #planning #2027yearoftheultra #jobsnotfinished🐍 #knowyourwhy by @coachswis

Remember Your Why 2025 v 2026 @hellonhogsback Results 2025 - I approached HoH not paying proper dues in training and planning. I ran to honor my friend Drake. I know Drake would never care about my result last year and would be proud that I did it. But for me, it didn’t sit well because I felt I didn’t properly honor him with my lack of prep and being able to give it my all that day. I left embarrassed with my output. Fast forward to November 2025. I made an absolute commitment to never go into any race unprepared, but even more so Hogsback, which is so meaningful for me and hundreds of others. From November onward I gave up things - energy drinks, sugary “coffee” drinks, desserts on the regular (bdays and holidays I sometimes made exception), almost never going out - so I could prioritize sleep, recovery, and focused training. I did it the smart way by adding gradually and doing tests at Hogsback periodically and hitting hill training there almost every weekend for months. I became very familiar with the course over that time span. What happened over time was a new found confidence in my fitness and feeling like I did, honestly even better prepared, then when I was training hard in my 20s. Fast Forward to this past Saturday and HoH ‘26 - I woke up that morning feeling confident. I did the work. I remembered and kept my Why with me along the entire journey. I executed. Not perfectly. I made mistakes. On that day and throughout my training. I know I can do better next year. I will do better next year. The five extraordinary humans who finished before me proved that. But I executed my race and surpassed my goal Saturday. I gave it everything I had. I went from 36 loops last year to 66 Saturday. And most importantly, deep in my heart I truly believed after I finally finished that I properly honored my friend, who was the original person who made me fall deeply in love with distance running. Thank you Drake, you helped me throughout and I truly endured for you ❤️ Happy now, but even more hungry for tomorrow. #hellonhogsback2026 #rememberyourwhy #grateful #2027hogabacktrainingsoon #lfg by @coachswis
