We had such a good time at #gencon2026! Here are the highlights: - The biggest game of Coalition EVER (30 players!) - Six pub night games! - Five expansion playtests And of course, our favorite part: seeing everyone again! Thanks to everyone who came to play (even with the inclement weather)! We’ll see you all next year! by @coalitionthegame
THE INVESTOR The Investor perfectly embodies the Merchant mindset: make your allies rich, so long as they continue to give you the cards you need. His power is one of the best Influence generators in the game, literally doubling the number of cards put in. As long as he can find a willing trade partner, he can keep the Influence flowing to finance big bids. #coalition#negotiation#boardgame#preorder#medieval by @coalitionthegame

INTRODUCING THE DUKE the nominal leader of the Nobles (Order + Wealth). Stern, imperious, and powerful, the Duke is a solid backbone for any Noble team. The Duke can reward an allied Chair for acting in his interest. Additionally, he can easily ascend the Council List to become Chair himself, and reap the rewards of his own power. The Duke is a formidable opponent - left unchecked, he will use the Chair to accrue mountains of Influence. #Coalition#boardgames#nobles#councilsoftherepublic by @coalitionthegame
Meet the Friar, the friendliest of the Clergy. This character’s art and playstyle are inspired by real-life medieval monks, famous brewers of beer! The Clergy (Order + Justice) are all about consensus-building The Friar’s power is a great bargaining chip, able to reward others for voting for Order and Justice. If he can convince his Council to play along, a smooth-talking Friar can generate boatloads of Influence over the course of the game! #coalition#boardgame#Clergy#Renaissance#councilsoftherepublic by @coalitionthegame
Ever wanted to know: “What inspired Coalition: Councils of the Republic?” Well Josh is here to answer your questions! #negotiation #boardgames #coalition #boardgame #medieval by @coalitionthegame
CLERGY The Clergy (Justice/Order) are about consensus-building. The more players at their Council vote for Order or Justice, the stronger the Clergy’s abilities become. #coalition#boardgame#spoonbillgames#factions#socialgames NOBLES The Nobles (Order/Wealth) are about controlling the Council Chair, leveraging powerful Edict to ensure that they remain at the top. MERCHANTS The Merchants (Wealth/Freedom) are about trading. Their abilities require Order and Justice cards, which they can only receive from the other factions. REBELS The Rebels (Freedom/Justice) are about precision and disruption. They must coordinate carefully to get the most out of their abilities, and ensure that no single faction dominates the Council Chair. INDEPENDENTS Each Independent has their own unique goal. Only one faction can win the game, but any number of Independents can also win at the same time! by @coalitionthegame
