Here's what I know about progressing in the gym and why you might not be .....

You don't have a specific goal and you know you "just want to loose weight"

Pick a specific goal and stick to it !

If your goal is glute growth (like mine) you're training needs to reflect that goal

Meaning you need to be training glutes 2/3x a week, while continously progressing to heavier loads

You're doing too many workouts!

You don't need multiple workouts for every gym session. You don't need 25 reps in each set

You need to structure your workouts around a few exercises that will allow you to progress over time (not only in weight but form as well)

My favorite Glute growth exercises that I use over and over again to progress and build muscle. Meaning when I first started a few years ago I wasn't capable of lifting more than 25 lbs, 4 years later and i can lift my body weight and more, because I stuck to the same exercises and gradually progressed over time

- bridging / hip thrusts
- Split squats / lunges
- Step UPs
- HIP Abductions
- Back Extensions
- Curtsy lunges

Progressive overload doesn't mean adding weight to every single workout. Progression can also mean

- Upping the amount of reps
- Extending your range of motion
- More control / precision

The goal is to get your muscles to do more (over time)

You don't think you did enough because your body isn't sore.

Don't confuse soreness with progress

You can have an incredible workout and wake up the next morning feeling completely normal and able to walk, bend, and stretch

Soreness doesn't equate to or determine progress Just like the scale doesn't determine your size and shape

You search and scramble social media for a workout everytime you're at the gym

You don't need an extensive list of workouts. But you need a structured one. The glutes aren't one big muscle, they're actually three

Glute max
Glute medius
Glute minimus

This is why it's important to have a goal with a structured workout, and someone who knows what they're doing.

Different exercises target different muscles of the glutes

Theres a difference between compound and isolation and you need both!

Compound = Builders (think adding. Growing. by @coastinwithcee

What you see is muscle. But beyond that, muscle is proof of persistence. Muscle is consistency, progressive overload, rest, proper nutrition, and months of refining what works for my body. That’s the difference between training and just working out.

Everyone wants to skip to the "after" but nobody talks about the years it takes to master form, learn your body, fuel it right, and build the kind of muscle that lasts. This isn’t luck, it’s strategy, discipline, and recovery done right

If you're new here, this took me two years to build. It wasn't an overnight thing. Years of discipline, patience, and showing up even when I didn’t feel like it.

You don’t build muscle in 4 weeks, you build it in seasons. Some days you’re lifting heavy, and some days you’re healing from setbacks.

It’s not the muscle that makes me feel strong, it’s knowing I built it. Every rep was a promise I kept to myself.

You can't rush strength , its built one rep and choice at a time. If you’ve ever doubted yourself, this one’s for you

If this is what two years looks like, i can't wait to see what the next few years has in store. This is your sign to keep going. by @coastinwithcee

The decision that completely changed my life..in the best way possible!

I always get to start the 2nd half of the year off , celebrating with years of clarity, strength, and growth 🥂

This year, I'm celebrating and sipping with @drinkhiyo
(my favorite N/A alternative ) Cheers to 6 years 🥂💖

This journey taught and continues to teach me how to have fun and live with joy

It teaches me that happiness, joy, laughter, confidence, and prosperity are found in the present moment and not at the bottom of a glass.

While society normalizes, encourages, accepts, and sips on spirits,

I will continue sipping and soaking in sobriety

I've never been "normal," and I have no desire to fit in or " follow the crowd "

Cheers to choosing health, happiness, and a vibrant life every day! 🥂💖

Take the step, start your journey, and transform your life.

If you're considering a change, you don't have to do it alone, Let’s do it together. Start Small. Start now.

Comment "Cheers," and I'll send you the link for the secret to success with sobriety. Or if you just want a discount on HIYO, and you're on the shy side, send me a DM! Llet's start this transformative journey! 💌

Running through my coastal towns 🌊🏃🏼‍♀️

First stop: Pismo Beach, California! 🤍

I spent a lot of time in this little coastal town when I was younger, and now I work here, so you could say I'm pretty familiar with the area 😉

Born and raised on the coast. No matter how many times I've moved or traveled out of the area/state, i always find myself counting down the days until i get to return

There's so much more to these coastal towns than what you see on a weekend getaway, and in photos.

It really is unmatched, and I'm taking you along one run at a time 😘 by @coastinwithcee

guns aren't scarier than men

Always practice gun safety first and foremost
(i recommend a range for that)

And Remember, It's not the gun that's dangerous , it's the person behind it by @coastinwithcee

Favorite Places to visit as a Central Coast Local ✨️

Born and raised in Santa Maria so I'm always a little hesitant when it comes to trying out bbq places but this one was fun and different - 805 BBQ

First Note I want to make is that they only Slow Smoke on saturdays , so if you're wanting anything off the slow smoke menu (like brisket) , you'll need to make sure you get there early on Saturday

The portions are massive, the sauce is good. There's beer on tap and a patio in the back. They have both SM Style BBQ and The slow smoke style.

Prices are fair for the amount of food you get. We split all of this amongst 5 people and had a tremendous amount of leftovers to take home. Such a good place to visit with your family, especially on a sunny Saturday!

Recent meals I've made at home that I actually eat and enjoy ✨️

We don't go out to eat too often, but when i get a craving for something, i search up the recipe, and make it at home from scratch.

No jarred, canned, or bottled sauces from the store and I try to keep all my ingredients to ten or less.

Is it time consuming? It can be

Is it worth it? Hell yeah!

The kitchen is really where flow state begins for me

Mongolian Beef & Broccoli with white rice

Fish & Chips. Freshly caught and freshly cut. Peeled, cut, and fried. Fileted, hand battered, and deep fried.

Orange chicken, Fried Rice, and BROCCOLINI. Hand battered with fresh squeezed orange juice for the sauce

Omg this was the one! I was craving chilis honey Chipotle sauce, so I made this to suffice

Buttermilk Hand Breaded, Hot Honey Tenders with Homemade Bacon Mac and Cheese, fresh green beans and a side of texas toast

Mediterranean style chicken and rice with Greek salad, a side of pita, and fresh homeade TZATZIKI sauce.

You know I love me some petras, but since its a bit of a drive, I made it at home.

Aragula, Fresh Peaches, Prosciutto, and Burrata drizzled with a peach Balsamic glaze

I've been so hyperfixated on this meal, its fresh, salty, and sweet, with a little crunch

Caprese but sub mozzarella for burrata. Another obsession i have .

Just give me all the burrata !!! by @coastinwithcee
