$Finished half sleeve! /// This piece was intended to highlight wildness and beauty found in chaos. We made sure the existing leaf tattoo around his wrist flowed nicely into the new artwork by adding a few additional leaves sprawling up for more vertical flow/motion. I added the orange, angular shapes to create dynamic motion and contrast, and I made them overlap and underlap elements like the leaves to visually incorporate them in to the new piece. I used colour and lines in a few new leaves strategically to cover a small tattoo that was on the wrist previously. We also darkened the larger planet for stronger impact after chatting before the last session and brought up the punchiness of the blue orb to make it really stand out before calling the piece done. \\\ If you are interested in getting tattooed, my books are open! Please email me your ideas. 🌱 by @codyeichtattoo$

Really enjoyed finally finishing this Heron cover-up on Lucy featuring her childhood home and some of the plants from the garden. Cheers my friend!

Sean’s mantis addition to his arm. 🌿

Such strange and cool little creatures. Will post more photos once his piece is complete.

This is butting up to a piece we did twelve or so years before.

This is a drawn on, coverup section on my coworker Drew’s leg sleeve we started awhile back.

Markering the design on helped me find any open skin I could use for some lighter parts of the new tattoo, and it helped me to add textures and details that can help distract the eye from the original design.

We will let this heal for a few months while we continue on the other unfinished sections of her piece and check it out again to see how it’s healed and settling in on the coverup sections. I may do a “second coat” at that point if the old tattoo is showing through.

The new pigment doesn’t really cover the old pigment, but enough new pigment can overpower what was there, making it much less prominent, which will aid in hiding the original piece.

Also shown is the work done in this session in partial healing and peeling mode a few days after. by @codyeichtattoo

From sketch to first session on Megan’s sci-fi/Lovecraft inspired sleeve. This squale (squid whale) is just the base as we will be adding weird plant life to the foreground and space elements in the background. Really excited to keep working on this one 🤘🏻🐋🌿
