POSTS STORIES REELS

Jacks last race on the E-Bike and Huddy’s first series on the Jr.

Jack - We got Jack the E-Bike when he was picked for KTM Juniors, little did I know how much it would help him. Not sure if it was the lighter bike, throttle control or what, but after a few rides he was much improved on all bikes. It’s been awesome and he’s won several races with it. It’s an air cooled E5 so he’s typically outclassed at the bigger races, but it’s not for a lack of effort! This was also his first few races on a 65, he’s had some good rides and some learning lessons! Being almost 5’ tall and 70+ lbs, our 50 days are numbered. Soaking them all in while we can! We switched bikes a couple months ago and his mechanic (me) was having a hard time, most of his poor results in Micro were dads fault unfortunately. 🙄

Hudson - Huddy got a Cobra Jr this summer and has been very on/off with it. Some days he shows up and some days he’s a 5 year old with an attitude. Lucky for him, even when he acts like he’s not listening he soaks in the info and puts it to use on his own time. He’s had a lot of success so far and still has 2 more years on the platform to grow! Looking forward to his future! Huddy has just recently started riding his PW like he wants to win. He’s standing, staying on the gas and using his legs to keep going when it’s framed in a rut. I don’t know what Jason did to this thing, but all I’ve done is maintenance and 1 throttle cable since he built it in 2024. No hour meter, but it has at least 100+ hours on it. Same top end, clutch, springs, shafts, etc. At this point I’m not changing anything until I have to, just to see how long it will go lol.

I’ve done a lot of things in life, different hobbies, sports, etc and getting to watch these kids learn and improve in a sport they love is truly a blessing. Being their dad (and unpaid part-time mechanic) is by far the highlight of my life! I hope they continue to love racing and I get to do it with them for many years to come! by @cole_walla

Stories from the road…

2015ish I had been working / staying in Laredo for over a year. The operator we were working for sold the lease so at this point we were just doing random jobs on our equipment. My buddy Lorenzo rode with me because it was supposed to be a quick job (always a mistake when you do field service). Job ended up taking about a week and we promptly ran out of food. We were able to go to Encinal while they were tripping out of the hole one night. There was one place open, a Loves truck stop. The only hot food they had were these “tornadoes”. We bought every one of them and rationed them out the next few days. I always have to grab one at the gas station now!

This was a normal week back then, I’ll always miss those days and the crew we had back then. Great group of men that all held each other accountable and made the long days fly by! by @cole_walla

Won my class @etx_fittest. It’s strange to be addicted to something that I’m mediocre at and hurts so much. I hope I never quit progressing and get a little better each day! Thanks @crossfittyler for a fun event and pushing me every day! by @cole_walla

A random comment about a song on Facebook lead to a meet up at On the Border in 2013. Which turned into a Marriage, Three New Souls, and a Gus. #ontheborder #family #thewallings by @cole_walla

We stopped at the NICU today where Jack spent his first 5 months. 7 years later and they still remember us. We haven’t stopped by in several years, but it felt just like the hundreds of times before. Parking in the same lot, walking through the same doors, same elevator, etc. Back then we would pray ourselves to sleep asking God for Jack to make it through those first few months and be “normal”. He may be a lot to handle and get a little amped up at times, but he’s perfect. After all the conversations with the doctors the first few days, to think that he just raced on a Pro SX track in front of tens of thousands of people and was competitive is mind blowing. I may have cried just a little watching my little 25 week, 1lb 15oz, 13.5” micro preemie on the gate living out his dreams! Such an awesome weekend on so many fronts.

The KTM staff makes this such an amazing experience for the kids and their families. Everything flows smoothly and is well thought out. We can’t thank them enough for the hospitality and kindness they show to all the families. We couldn’t have asked for a better group to share the experience with!

This is the biggest full circle moment of our lives. 7 years ago today Jack was in the hospital on day 90 fighting for his life, now we are 5 days away from him racing in that same stadium. We are blessed beyond measure, God had a plan for him!!

It would be awesome if everyone could make a little video with some words of encouragement for Jack this weekend and send it to us to show him before Saturday! by @cole_walla

Stories from the road…

This year after Sturgis @cjacobwilliams, @blakeburns22 and I decided to head East for Tennessee. We got a late start, thanks to me mostly for trying to fix my Cardo, which ended up being fine 🙄. We spent time in The Badlands and just took our time seeing the sites on the way which led to a late night. After a late supper in Iowa we decided to push through 2 more tanks before calling it a night. This time of night the roads are empty so you can ride the whole highway, because of that we were all spread out so we didn’t have to look at each others headlights. In typical Blake fashion he was crying about how bright our LP6’s are and wouldn’t let us get behind him. Jacob and I have logged so many miles together that we know each others next move, so a few miles later I tell Blake, through comms, that I saw a cop turn around and to go by and I’ll duck off on the next exit. He falls for it and Jacob and I fall in behind him and bright light him for the next 10 miles or so while he try’s to get away. Definitely one of those you had to be there moments, but I think about it often and makes me laugh every time. by @cole_walla

You ever been so proud of your kid you nearly shed a tear? That was this weekend! We’ve been working so hard and slowly progressing, but after riding the E5 3-4 times something clicked and he rode so well all weekend!

3 weeks ago we raced A8 at Swan, a track he has ridden more than anywhere else, and nearly got lapped in each moto. He had been riding so well at the practice track and it didn’t show at all. Goal after then was to get him as many gate drops as possible with plenty of traffic. Freestone was perfect, his biggest gate drop ever.

He was running 4th almost the whole last moto of the 6-7 50cc class, but followed a lapper into a corner and got passed on the outside to go 6-5 for 6th overall.

4-8 50cc class he looped out his first moto off the start. I knew I screwed up when we got to the gate and there was a gap on the gate. He’s never started on that type of gate so my fault for not covering that. He immediately got up and charged forward to pass 16 other riders. Thats been a big issue for him previously as he’d just find someone and follow. It was so awesome to have 36 other bikes on the gate! He ended up 22-20 for 21st overall against some really fast kids.

He had ridden the E-Bike twice (2 charges) before this weekend. He almost immediately gelled with the bike and form looked much better than other bikes. They ran 2 E-Bike classes in this series (4-6) and (7-8) instead of the normal 4-7, but they were on the same gate drop. He ended up finishing 3rd overall. There’s obviously still a ton of work to do, but I’m looking forward to building off the momentum of this weekend! I hope the coming Winter Series rounds are just as packed as this weekend! by @cole_walla
