- In summer of 2022 Colin Sander embarked on an adventure with the goal of bringing Kendama to the HIGHEST point in North America: Denali. Bringing Kendama to this remote location is a small symbol for how far Kendama, and the Kendama community has grown and spread over the past 2 decades. Follow Colins journey as he mixes his passions for kendama, Alpinism, Filmmaking, Mountaineering, Skiing, and Climbing on this wild adventure into Alaska.

We worked with Colin on a limited collab Kendama to symbolize this epic achievement. You can find this special Kendama at shop.KendamaUSA.com

Merry Christmas Everyone ❤️

We went to the western slope of the Sierra Nevada, hoping to find Giant trees, & big rocks... what we found was a place to truly spend time with one another...

Enjoy the beautiful fall colors, & peaceful landscapes of this special part of our planet- as the Park is dealing with threatening fires currently...

I made this video back in fall of 2020, but with so much going on in the world, I didn't feel it was a time to share it. Considering the uncertain futures for some of the giant trees, & California's wild places in general, I just want people to enjoy, cherish, remember, (& respect) the sanctity and history of these spaces while we can.

Much love & appreciation goes out to the Firefighters & Park Service working to protect the trees, communities, & wilderness year after year. Because of you we get to partake in experiences like these. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Birthdays... start to mean less & less as you get older.. until they start to mean more again, I guess.

Thankful for another lap around the Sun. Another chance to grow, to celebrate, to improve, to learn, to love, to LIVE.

What's there to say that hasn't already been said... Love your family, love your neighbor, follow your passions, & stay true to your spirit. Try to live your dharma, & give this life your all every damn day.

Sending love out to everyone. Enjoy this peak moment, from a near-perfect day back in winter ❄️❄️

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: "God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another."

Live as children of light, for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth. Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them.

Therefore, it says: "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons, but as wise- making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not continue in ignorance... but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms & hymns & spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks always and for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Little did we know this would be our last visit to The Needles before the SQF complex fire would roll through these most cherished granite spires of the Southern Sierra.

The vibes were high, as we saw familiar faces, & met new friends at the trailhead. The spring days were cool & crisp, and early season stoke was in the air.

We hoofed our water & snacks in, deciding to make a discreet one night camp at the notch and got an extra early Friday-start to the busy weekend.

What really can be said about the purest of deep blue skies, surging clouds, and highlighter-bright lichen on pearlescent granite sliced by splitters galore... I just know that It’s a special, earthy, & purifying place unlike any other I've been to.

we arrived with a plentiful stash of fruit, chocolate, gummies, & beef jerky that we dished out to appreciative parties much stronger than us- who had finished their own objectives.

I sat the next morning in intentional prayer, offering as much thanks as i could for this beautiful zone, the great community that was there, the opportunity, the experience. I took a voicenote, trying to recall the emotions I was going through, and transcribed it into this short prayer. Please Enjoy the video & vibes. It’s a real tragedy that this year's Fire was the big one many felt was coming. but we trust that the Needles, The land, and its spirit, will endure.

Blessings & Healing to all.

Sitting here listening to the rain fall... thinking back to early morning fitness tours in winter... wondering about how the world changed so quickly, and where we’re headed next.

May everyone continue to live fully, see clearly, and love deeply during these trying times. It seems we’re about to drop into some serious terrain as a whole.

enjoy the birds eye view from the gopro MAX of dropping into Baldy Bowl 👁 in boney conditions.

*I wrote this note after a solo ski of Baldy last March*. just sharing now as it still resonates. the recent storm gave SoCal some helpful base for a good winter season. Sending everyone blessings & positive vibes for the new year !!

Moving quickly through big terrain ... we were blessed with the experience of climbing the Thunderbolt to Sill traverse in the Palisades back when skies were blue, and the Inyo NF was open.

We had an awesome send, even with long boulder fields to cross, & the unknown status of the North couloir bergschrund in the back of our minds.

It was passable, & super fun snow climbing. the ridge was unrelenting for us, though an inspiring party of 3 in tennies passed us on a daytrip. we pitched out a few sections, and did the infamous ‘creative rappel’.

The traverse finishes on 'Nee-ma-mee-shee' meaning 'guardian of the valley' in the native Nüümü / Eastern Mono language. We blasted the final stretch, finishing the ridge in about 7.5 hrs, with plenty of daylight left to enjoy the views. The glacial melt water once we hit the bottom was pure heaven. Enjoy the video 🎞🎞

before the fires took over the Sierra Nevada here in California, we visited the well loved, ultra-classic South Face of Charlotte Dome. It’s always a special opportunity when you have overnight permits in Kings Canyon National Park.

starting from the West this time, we ascended alongside the gorgeous Bubbs Creek, where towering granite faces and spires lined the canyon walls. We camped with primo views of the route, and set our alarms for 4am.

The final rugged 2000’ of gain and cross-country miles to the base didn’t let us through easily, and crossing the creek was a challenge. Smoke had noticeably increased from our entrance day as well, which left us parched on the wall.

Still, we ascended perfect patina’d granite- and pitch after pitch of fun, varied, & engaging climbing. The golden glow made for an unreal scene as we topped out the final headwall of the 12 pitch Rowell & Beckey route (1970).

Enjoy the video & vibes. Thanks for the partnership @billclapp @hornsby_type_r & the support from @arcteryxlabrea & @xendurance . Sending our prayers & appreciation to all those fighting the wildfires. Remember to #leavenotrace , practice appropriate wilderness ethics, & send hard ! The whole experience was too good not to share.

❄️ deep and fluffy ❄️ at Copper Mountain during the storm day we caught. It was too good to film the first few untouched runs.. later in the day, we bounced from stash to stash charging into the leftover powder fields.
.
flowing through the mellow trees was super peaceful and purifying. I made this short video so you could feel the vibes & share in the joy. Have fun out there. Just savoring winter while it lasts. 🌬🌬
