It was a pleasure to celebrate another successful Original Collard Greens Cultural Festival, an event that continues to bring Atlanta together through culture, community, healthy living, and the preservation of traditions passed down through generations. I was honored to present a City of Atlanta Proclamation recognizing the festival’s cultural significance and continued contributions to our city, alongside State Representative Angela Moore, who presented a State Proclamation. From the Seed Swap and Collards on Cascade to the many activities throughout the festival, the day reflected the importance of preserving our heritage, sharing knowledge, and creating spaces that strengthen community. Congratulations to the organizers, staff, volunteers, partners, and everyone who helped make this year’s celebration possible. by @collardgreensfest
Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared, swapped, and helped make our Seed Swap at the @collardgreensfest a beautiful reminder of what community can grow. 🌱 Seeds are more than something we plant. They carry culture, knowledge, biodiversity, and the power to grow food on our own terms. From heirloom varieties to growing tips passed from hand to hand, every exchange was an investment in keeping these traditions alive. Thank you to Chris Lemons of @gratitudebotanicalfarm for helping bring this gathering to life and to everyone who came ready to share what they had and take home something new. This is what it looks like to grow together. 🌱 by @collardgreensfest
Collard greens, good vibes, and a whole lot of FUN! 💚🎉 We had an amazing time at the Collard Green Festival! From face painting and horseback rides to live performances and the collard green contest, there was something for everyone! 🐎🎶🎨 And the flavors? Everything from Collard Green ice cream 🍦 and Collard Green lemonade 🍋 to our very own The Collard Green Machine—a new juice we created especially for the festival! 🥬🔌 Thank you to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a juice, and showed us love! If you weren’t there, you missed out—but there’s always next year! 😉 Did you try The Collard Green Machine? Tell us what you thought! 👇💚 #TheJuicePlugExpress #CollardGreenFestival #TheCollardGreenMachine #JuicedByThePlug by @collardgreensfest
The Queen of Collard Greens does it again. 👑 Congratulations to Mama Know for another successful year of bringing recognition to the Original Collard Greens Cultural Festival, with a State Proclamation presented by Representative Angela Moore and a City of Atlanta Proclamation presented by Atlanta City Council President Marci Collier-Overstreet. A special thank you to Mama La Boyd for making the connection with Hillside International Truth Center and helping make it possible for us to host Collards on Cascade this year. Why do we need seed swaps?🌱 Because our food system should not depend on having access to the same few seeds, from the same few sources. Seed swapping helps communities preserve heirloom varieties, increase biodiversity, share culturally significant crops, and keep the knowledge of growing food alive and moving from hand to hand. This September 27, come exchange more than seeds. Join Chris Lemons of @gratitudebotanicalfarm for a community Seed Swap at the @collardgreensfest ! Bring what you have. Take what you can grow. Share what you know. September 27, 1 PM to 3 PM Hillside International Truth Center, Atlanta Song Garden Groove by @jordanjust by @collardgreensfest
