10.03.2026 Freedom day - a day when I regained my freedom after serving a 10 year sentence 🙏 I’ve been out 7 years in total but 5 of that was still on licence, 10.03.24 is when I became fully free I have now entered the best chapter of them all, becoming a father 💚 . . #freedom #free #hyrox #prison #marine by @commando_charlie
Why HYROX? & why do we train? For me it’s simple, I do this for fun and for the love of the sport I love the training & love the challenge of race day The HYROX community inspires me in so many ways Training and racing keep me accountable and on a positive path Pain, suffering, and purpose are my motivation I only started competing at 38 & hadn’t ran for years I focus on quality sessions and doing the best I can with the time I have With a newborn baby the weeks now look a little different and time with baby Charlie is more precious than time spent in the gym Last season I podiumed 4 times out of 6 solo races training less than 10 hours a week - 5 pro 1 open Remember your reason why, that’s your fuel to keep moving forward Why HYROX? Because it gives me purpose! @hyroxworld @hyroxuk by @commando_charlie
One sachet that changed my routine 👊 I used to travel to races with several bottles and tubs of supplements just to keep my routine consistent Frustrating to say the least, especially when you’re only travelling with carry-on luggage 😂 Then along came @im8health Now one daily sachet has made that routine so much simpler, at home and when travelling I’ve been using IM8 for months, and the biggest game changer for me has been the simplicity. Less to pack, less to think about, and one daily habit I can stick to wherever I am Simplicity makes consistency easier 🫡 Want to simplify your daily routine? Race debrief with @georgemartindale1 George ran a time of 55:48 in the men’s pro crossing the finish line in 1st place in the 1st wave with the next guy crossing the finish line Just after him and both of them showing the exact same time on the board George finished 2nd overall but was definitely the winner of the people 🫡💯 @gorilla_warfare_salford @phaseseven7 @cammie__g @hyroxworld . . #hyrox #hyroxuk #hyroxworld by @commando_charlie
Stop doing this with the sled!! Get lower and stay low to stop tipping the sled forward and grinding it to a halt or digging into the surface making it feel 10 times harder 🙏 Definitely the practice you do in the gym will help you come race day because these new sleds and surfaces are no joke especially with the pro weights 🤯 Whag technique works best for you? @hyroxworld @hyroxuk . #hyrox #hyroxworld #hyroxuk #hyroxcommunity by @commando_charlie
What a finish this was.. @hyroxuk Birmingham men’s Pro 1st wave & it all came down to the wall balls between a few of the athletes to take the win @georgemartindale1 went unbroken and came from behind to cross the finish line first but was knocked down to 2nd place by the Athlete behind him crossing the line just after him They both finished with the exact time of 55:48 on the board so it must have been decided by the milliseconds from when they crossed the start line This was very very intense and it came down to the wire between several athletes and just goes to show it’s never over till it’s over 💪💯 An incredible performances by all athletes and so amazing to watch, the levels are a joke this season 📈 @hyroxworld . . #hyrox #hyroxworld #hyroxuk #hyroxcommunity by @commando_charlie
11 HYROX races in 10 days!! 🔥 I’ll be racing every single day at @hyroxuk Manchester, with a relay added in to make it 11 races across the 10-day event 💪 I’m taking on this challenge for a cause that means a lot to me m, supporting mental health and using my story to help anyone who has lost their way or feels like they’re starting again. HYROX has helped me rebuild my life, find purpose and feel part of a community again. Now I want to use it to give something back and remind people there is a way forward 🙏 More details about the challenge, the charity and how to donate are coming soon. I’ll also be revealing who’s joining me on the start line along the way… stay tuned 👀 . . #hyrox #hyroxworld #hyroxcommunity #hyroxuk by @commando_charlie
