“A MIRROR ON ITS3LF” which opened on the 19th of December, 2025 6pm at the folikwei Art Gallery in Westlands Blvd, (5.6578678, -0.2074337) is currently up and continues till 19th of February, 2026 every Monday - Saturday 9am-6pm.

The exhibition examines the threshold where images become pictures and where appearances seek form. Rooted in the philosophical argument that an image is a mode of perception and a picture its material boundary, the exhibition gathers artists who navigate and trouble this divide

Halimatu Iddrisu (born in Accra Ghana) is a visual artist currently living and working in Kumasi, Ghana. She earned both Bachelor of Fine Arts (2020) and Master of Fine arts (2024) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of
Science and T echnology (KNUST). Her multidisciplinary practice explores the intersections of gender, religion and structural power, with a focus on the marginalization of women within Ghana’s Zongo communities. Rooted in personal experience and communal memory, Iddrisu’s work often engages with Islamic visual culture, found materials and traditional rituals.

Through media such as painting, photography/photo transfer, fabric printing and symbolic objects, she creates paradoxical spaces where historically excluded female figures are reimagined into narratives of presence, resistance and shared identity. Her practice is a continuous dialogue between the intimate and the political, exploring how women navigate and subtly subvert systems that seek to silence them. by @compoundhousegallery
