โค๏ธ A Grooming Update from Concise K9! โค๏ธ After an incredible first year in business, we have officially reached our grooming capacity! With that being said, we will no longer be accepting new grooming clients for the remainder of 2026 and will reevaluate our availability in the new year. We will still make exceptions for referrals from other K9 professionals, dog trainers, walkers, veterinary professionals etc. We will also continue accepting grooming clients who have trained with us in the past, are currently training with us, or are enrolled in our training programs in the future. Grooming requests will be considered on a case by case basis, depending on availability and the individual dog's needs. When we first opened Concise K9, we never imagined just how much support we would receive in such a short amount of time. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted us with their dogs, recommended us to friends and family, and helped our little business grow into what it is today. As a one on one grooming salon, our priority has always been providing quality care, taking our time with each dog, and building lasting relationships with our clients. In order to maintain that level of service, we have made the decision to temporarily close our books to new grooming clients outside of the exceptions mentioned above. To our existing grooming clients, nothing changes! We will continue to accommodate your regular appointments and encourage everyone to prebook to secure their preferred dates. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making our first year so incredible. We truly couldn't have done it without you! โค๏ธ Braylyn & Kevin Concise K9 ๐Ÿพ Please note that this announcement ONLY applies to grooming. Our training services are still accepting new clients! by @concise.k9

Meet Tuco! Tuco is a 9 month old Malinois who's here for a Board & Train, but his program looks a little different from what you're used to seeing come through our doors! Throughout his stay, we'll be focusing on building his confidence on the bite, developing stronger and more stable grips, and working on neutrality in different environments while out and about. This program is all about building on Tuco's existing skills while developing the confidence, clarity, and reliability needed for his future. We're excited to be part of his development and look forward to sharing his progress over the coming weeks! Stay tuned for more Tuco! ๐Ÿ“ฒ Book now through the link in our bio ๐ŸŒ www.concisek9.com ๐Ÿ“ง concisek9@gmail.com ๐Ÿ“ฑ Text only: 403.465.7992 by @concise.k9
Words cannot explain how proud I am of Mango today! ๐Ÿฅญโค๏ธ Mango originally came to me as a last ditch effort by his owner to get him groomed. At the time, she couldn't even touch his back end, he was matted, covered in poop, and he had bitten her multiple times. His behaviour had become so unpredictable that she was genuinely considering euthanasia. The first time I groomed him, he was muzzle punching me and actively trying to bite me, the dryer, the brush or pretty much anything that came near him. It was NOT an easy groom. Mango still comes in medicated for his grooming appointments, but today he absolutely blew me away with how well he did! I was so impressed that I told his owner I'd love to try his next groom without it. He was even able to have the muzzle off once he was on the grooming table! This is why consistency is SO important with behavioural grooming cases. I require these dogs to come in on a regular schedule so they can become more comfortable with the grooming process, handling and, most importantly, build trust with me. It's a commitment owners need to be willing to make. Behavioural cases sometimes also come with an additional handling fee. These dogs often require more time, patience and sometimes an extra set of hands to keep everyone safe. Not every dog is going to love grooming, and progress doesn't happen overnight. But with consistency, patience and owners willing to put in the work, we can make a huge difference. Mango is a perfect example of that, and I couldn't be prouder of how far he's come! ๐Ÿ“ฒ Book now through the link in our bio ๐ŸŒ www.concisek9.com ๐Ÿ“ง concisek9@gmail.com ๐Ÿ“ฑ Text only: 403.465.7992 by @concise.k9
Dopamine Box work! @finalcanine, thank you for the awesome box! This was Sadieโ€™s first introduction to the Dopamine Box, and she did very well once she figured out what the catalyst for payment was! The Dopamine Box is a great tool for developing hunt drive, food motivation, problem-solving skills, mental clarity, confidence, and stress resilience. It encourages dogs to use their nose, think through challenges, work through frustration, and stay engaged in the process of finding their reward. Itโ€™s about more than just finding food. Weโ€™re building a dogโ€™s ability to think, problem-solve, and work through challenges. Mental stimulation with a purpose! ๐Ÿ‘Š ๐Ÿ“ฒ Book now through the link in our bio ๐ŸŒ www.concisek9.com ๐Ÿ“ง concisek9@gmail.com ๐Ÿ“ฑ Text only: 403.465.7992 by @concise.k9

Weโ€™ve been working on reconditioning Niki to low level e collar stimulation, focusing on building a positive association where stim = reward! Niki is currently working at a level 5, a low level that she can perceive and respond to. The goal in this session is when Niki feels that stimulation, we want her first thought to be to look back to her handler in anticipation of a reward. Rather than just using the e collar to interrupt unwanted behaviour, weโ€™re teaching her that the sensation has meaning and that checking in with her handler is a rewarding choice. This will be particularly useful when Niki starts to fixate on other dogs and for recall. Instead of getting locked onto whatโ€™s happening around her, we want her to recognize that familiar sensation, disengage and reconnect with her handler. Welcome Sadie to our Board and Train program! Weโ€™ll be working on building Sadieโ€™s confidence, improving impulse control, and developing emotional regulation in new environments. Weโ€™ll also be helping her learn to make better choices and navigate interactions around new dogs. The goal is to help Sadie navigate the world with more confidence, make better decisions, and develop the skills she needs to handle new experiences more calmly. Weโ€™re looking forward to seeing her progress over the next few weeks! ๐Ÿ“ฒ Book now through the link in our bio ๐ŸŒ www.concisek9.com ๐Ÿ“ง concisek9@gmail.com ๐Ÿ“ฑ Text only: 403.465.7992 by @concise.k9

Welcome Niki to our 2 week Board & Train program! ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ Niki is joining us for a refresher on some foundational skills and to work on her serious case of FOMO. ๐Ÿ˜‚ She has a hard time settling when other dogs or people are out doing things without her, so we'll be focusing on building patience, neutrality and the ability to relax without feeling like she needs to be involved in everything and let the world continue on. Sometimes training isn't about teaching new skills, but strengthening the ones they already know and learning that it's perfectly okay to sit back and do nothing! ๐Ÿ“ฒ Book now through the link in our bio ๐ŸŒ www.concisek9.com ๐Ÿ“ง concisek9@gmail.com ๐Ÿ“ฑ Text only: 403.465.7992 by @concise.k9
