Friends, Duct Tape, Dua Lipa, Masters of Cosplay/Prop Replica Competitions, and a humble dream - what a weekend at @fanexpocanada

Real talks below:

After not competing since 2021, going on stage at Canada's biggest competition was an inspiring, humbling, and educational experience. I cosplay to try and literally embody the character, implementing their most admirable traits and lessons across all scopes of my life, and I build to push myself and learn as much as I can. I tie life-goals alongside each cosplay, all to strive to be like Deku 😤

My builds strive to be efficient and awe-inspiring aesthetically, but competitions call for a level of craftsmanship that leaves no corner unturned, and this is what I now strive for in the coming year. Winning Fan Favourite for the Deku helmet reaffirms this perspective, and I couldn't be happier to find a new skill ceiling to climb towards in gunning for the best in class titles.

This weekend saw so many people pool together to support me, and without @shafpuppy, @reedspropsplus, @cinnalynna, @stefen_ha, @asolocab, @ragegearprops, @porkchopcosplay, and @kanelung (picture credit! 📸), I wouldn't have been able to pull off such a massive cosplay

Without the help of @breadbren, @_nikki.cos, and @luirae in tackling my first full-body sewing process, and my closest friends in Sohrab and Dreece helping me along it all, I wouldn't be able to block every doorway at the MTCC 😆

The lessons learned from organizers and judges like @thecovinator, @craycritter, and @byteprops set new standards 😤

After October, I'll be retiring this costume and rebuilding it from scratch for next year (aside from the helmet), so lmk if you want to shoot and we'll try and make magic happen!
