INTERRUPTIONS
An exhibition.

A line is drawn on a map long before it’s drawn on a body. But a gesture doesn’t stop just because a border cuts through it - a mango eaten a certain way, a hand cupped to drink water, a phrase used to greet a neighbour.

Featuring image and moving-image work that treats these lines of nation, region, religion, language, food, and the ones we carry within us, not as subject, but as a site. Not to illustrate the divide, not to resolve it into unity, but to sit in between and ask: what does this departure cost us? What refuses to leave our bodies anyway?

We invite you to step into this space, to witness, and share this collective moment of reflection.

Presenting works by: @shaqulain @aaannnnuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuujjj @anushkalmdown @bikramdey25395 @induantony @_majidabidi @parizad_d @sajidwajidshaikh @sayakmohanta @shivamchaudhryyy @sneha_lakhotia @ufaq_fatima @subha_ju_ph @pruthajain4

Date: 26th September, 2026
Time: 12pm onwards
Venue: Conflictorium, Ahmedabad

Aren’t we all grateful for those who accept their whimsicality for us to also stop doubting and get right down to what matters: creating?

Parizad’s work reminds us of the absurd, it’s necessity, because at the margins of common sense and acceptability, we begin to truly wonder.

Showcasing at INTERRUPTIONS.

Art begins at a peculiar juncture, where you start to shape your care into a message and try to make meaning with others.

Made from practicing how we make meaning out of material and time, drawing from what is around us, within us, @sajidwajidshaikh and @_majidabidi 's respective art pieces are on showcase at INTERRUPTIONS.

AHMEDABAD

Cities reflect its citizens' vulnerabilities and the difference between their capacity to adapt and recover.

We go for a walk with @emmrat to inquire how discomfort due to heat for some is different from losses due to heat for many , and wonder if 'shade' has also become a matter of affordability.

📍 Starting Point: Conflictorium ( Mirzapur)
⏰️ Time: 2 PM.

Registrations are closed.

AHMEDABAD

From climate anxiety to action; the apparent hap-hazardous treatment of the sole (now endangered, too) source of water in the city; uncalled for beautification for a promised future edification, we are asking if the city requires more ‘designing’ that it works for a select few, or planning that refuses to compromise on dignity, of human, animal and plants.

Do we give in to the invisible hand? If not, then what?

Join us for a swath of conversations the coming weekend and a film screening the next.

Registration link in Bio for all the respective dates.

Some continuations need to be interrupted before we can begin to think of change.

Conflictorium welcomes all to our exhibition of INTERRUPTIONS, an audio-visual journey, but also a platform for a quiet reflection on our generations’ strife - not ‘demands’.

Walk through, but also sit, write, grab one of the team members and talk about what you’d like to stop, and how do you think it can be interrupted.
