Got the win by unanimous decision yesterday night at @capebretoninvitational absolutely amazing show and it was an amazing experience as a competitor and a spectator. It was also the only grappling show I’ve been apart of where all the athletes got payed, the match’s were exciting, the crowd was electric and the event was very well run. I’d like to take a moment to dedicate my match to my grandmother who recently got diagnosed with cancer and she wasn’t able to be at the event that night, so I’d just like to thank her for her unwavering support and love through not just my grappling career but also my life. I love you Nan ❤️ and I appreciate every single person who made the show possible and showed up to support me. Thank you all 🙏 Pictures: @taylorcostello9 by @connerdoesjiujitsu

So unbelievably thankful for the people who have become almost like a second family to me. I’m at such a disbelief I don’t even know how to express how grateful I am for everything I’ve accomplished and achieved in the short 2 and half years I’ve been training. It’s truly changed my life not just physically but in all aspects of life. To anyone willing to listen find what you enjoy and chase that. Thank you all for your support ❤️ by @connerdoesjiujitsu

Had an incredible day at @eastcoastgrapplingchampionship and was able to become the first juvenile absolute champion. I went 5-0 today with 2 submissions against some incredible competitors with a lot of impressive wins and performances. I could not have done it without my team at @sprawlorbrawl and especially my coach’s @adammcneil4 who has been coaching me since the very start of my competitive career and @justinmackenze who has always motivated and trained me to be the athlete and competitor I am today. I would not be here if it weren’t for my teammates and coaches and I’m thankful for everything single one of them, I can’t wait to see where jiu jitsu takes me next. by @connerdoesjiujitsu

I meant to make this post long ago. My grandmother was a very important person in my life and I can’t express enough how much I miss her. It’s been a few weeks and my family’s still processing her absence because of the way she used to light up a room and always manage to be the center of attention. I’m writing this out as a means of acceptance because although I’ve had time to process, I’ve never fully recovered. I know this isn’t what I’d usually post or even talk about but I thought it might help. My grandmother countines to be a motivation for anything I do whether is combat sports related or not, and although it’s tough to process and with that it’s hard to find the energy to go about daily life, I know she wouldn’t want to see me stop what I’m doing especially somthings I enjoy. Although this may not even be read, I’m glad I have the privilege of being her grandson and being able to share her story. by @connerdoesjiujitsu
