GB’s young medal chaser, Connor Carapetian, may only be 9 years old, but he’s already making a big name for himself in the Jiu-Jitsu world.

After just 3 years of training under Johnathan Rodrigues, Daniel Amorim, and Bruno Victor, Connor has racked up some impressive wins, including gold at both the American National and Jiu-Jitsu Con, plus a silver at Pan Kids.

Recently ranked #1 in his division and 10th overall by the IBJJF, he’s now gearing up for the European Championships with his sights set on the 2025 IBJJF Grand Slam.

Words of wisdom from @tainandalpra 🥋

Even when kids train at a high level, the journey should still feel like being a kid. Have fun, enjoy learning, and let the dream of becoming a champion inspire you without becoming pressure. by @connorcbjj

THIS KID’S FLOW IS ABSURDOOOOOO 🔥🔥🔥

At the UFC BJJ Open in Phoenix, Connor Carapeiam showed an ABSURD flow throughout his matches, moving freely, connecting his positions, and always looking to push the pace.

Straight out of Gracie Barra Chandler, Connor is one of the athletes who works the hardest in training. We can say that because we visited the academy and saw firsthand how hard this kid trains.

Even though he finished as the runner-up, Connor made one thing clear: whenever he steps on the mat, you can expect aggressive, forward-moving jiu-jitsu full of personality.

PAN 2026 wasn’t the day we hoped for—but every setback is part of the journey.

As Professor always reminds us, setbacks are part of the journey. They don’t define you—they prepare you. Learn, grow, and come back stronger. The work continues. 🥋

No matter the stage, the goal stays the same: compete at the highest level with humility, respect, and gratitude. Every event is another opportunity to learn, grow, and represent the people who invest in me the right way.

Huge thank you to my professors, Gracie Barra Chandler, and Dream Guard Project for the constant support, guidance, and belief in me throughout the journey. Grateful for the team behind me every step of the way. 🙏
