And new books! And a signing with so much Betty love! More than one person told me it's their kid's favorite!

Book Review with a question for readers

Title: Itty Bitty Betty Blob
Written by Constance Lombardo @constancelombardo @conlombardowrites
Illustrated by Micah Player @micahplayer
Jacket design by Micah Player @micahplayer, Amelia Mack @ameliamaymack, Will Mack

Publisher(s): @hippoparkbooks, an imprint of @astrakidsbooks

Question: Do you like seeing monsters in books? Or
What are you reading?

My comments
This charming book made me smile and laugh during various points in the cute story. Colouring the main character in pink and her lugubrious schoolmates in monochrome was a rather clever idea. Its positive message of acceptance is also important for people of all ages, starting with children.😊

I'm grateful to have found this book in @lomitalibrary, a part of @lacountylibrary.

Summary from the author

Perfect for ages 4-8, with adorable art in pinks and grays, Itty Bitty Betty Blob will make even the grumpiest monsters giggle! A positive message makes it extra special: “You don’t have to try so hard to be like everyone else, being yourself is enough!”
Picture Day can be a lot of pressure, especially when you’re not so good at making monster faces! Poor Betty likes rainbows and dandelions a lot more than being scary! But one day, something happens–and everything turns around in this uniquely funny story that reminds us that differences should be shared, not hidden! Perfect for fans of Sweety by Andrea Zuill and classics, such as Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon and Chrysanthemum.
