SOME MOMENTS IN LIFE MEAN MORE THAN WORDS CAN EVER EXPLAIN. THIS IS ONE OF THEM. As a dad, all you ever want is to see your children happy, chasing their dreams and becoming the best version of themselves. But to have the privilege of standing beside your son, not only as his dad but also as his coach, watching him grow into a professional fighter, is something I will treasure for the rest of my life. I’ve seen the hard days, the sacrifices, the setbacks, the blood, sweat and tears. I’ve seen what people don’t see behind the scenes. And that’s what makes this moment so special. Knowing how much Kai has put into getting here makes me prouder than words can describe. I wanted to get him something special to mark this milestone, and a massive thank you to The Frame Shop in Stockton town centre, just a minute’s walk from Contender Gym, for doing an incredible job. This will now take pride of place inside CONTENDER GYM – THE HOUSE OF CHAMPIONS! A huge thank you to all his coaches, teammates and sponsors who have supported him along the way. Every bit of support means so much to us and plays a part in helping Kai chase his dream. @garrybell_contender @davidao_sa @sweatbox.studio @lesterkitching @striking_fitness_coach @kay_azonto_contender @legions_muaythai Making it to the professional ranks is a massive achievement. Many dream of it, but few understand what it really takes to get there. And as hard as it is to become a professional, making it to the very top is even harder. Kai, no matter how far this journey takes you, always remember how far you’ve already come. I’m proud of the fighter you’re becoming, but even prouder of the young man you’ve grown into. We’ve shared this journey together from the beginning, and there’s still so much more to come. 🥋🔥 THE DOUBLE BACK KICK! ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVOURITE MARTIAL ARTS MOVES! If you grew up watching the classic martial arts movie Best of the Best, you’ll remember that legendary fight between Dae Han and Tommy Lee! Others might recognise it as the famous BOYKA KICK from Scott Adkins’ Undisputed movies! @thesimonrhee @philliprhee @thescottadkins Here’s a little story… Earlier this year, I got the amazing opportunity to play a fighter opposite Scott Adkins in his new action movie BRAWLER, which he both directed and starred in, coming in 2027! And believe it or not, Scott actually performed his famous BOYKA KICK on me during our fight scene! 😂🔥 He caught me perfectly and took me clean off my feet! Hopefully, it makes the final cut because it was an awesome experience! Growing up watching martial arts movie legends like Simon Rhee and Phillip Rhee, I always dreamed of one day being part of action movies like these. Now, all these years later, I’m actually getting to live some of those childhood dreams! Hopefully, one day I’ll get to work alongside Simon and Phillip in one of their movies too. That would be another dream come true! And keep your eyes peeled for BEST OF THE BEST 5! The legendary martial arts movie franchise is making a comeback, and I can’t wait to see it! 👊 Funny how life works. One minute you’re a kid watching your heroes on screen, the next you’re getting kicked across one by them! 😂 Never stop dreaming. Never stop believing. Anything is possible! 🔥 #ScottAdkins #BestOfTheBest #MartialArts #Brawler #GarryBell by @contendergym

🥊🎬 FROM WATCHING ROCKY AS A KID TO PLAYING A BOXER ON THE BIG SCREEN! Here’s a crazy true story I’ve never forgotten! Many years ago, while on holiday, I met a lovely lady called Cheryl Howard. She told me I’d be amazing playing a boxer in a movie her husband was making! We arranged to meet again that evening, but unfortunately, I missed her and flew home the next day. Her husband? Hollywood director RON HOWARD! The movie? CINDERELLA MAN, starring RUSSELL CROWE! 🥊 The incredible true story of James J. Braddock, who lost almost everything during the Great Depression but fought his way back to become heavyweight champion of the world! I’ve often wondered what might have happened if I’d made that meeting. BUT LIFE HAS A FUNNY WAY OF COMING FULL CIRCLE! All these years later, I’m delighted to be playing boxer TOMMY GRANT in the upcoming British boxing movie A MEASURE OF DIGNITY! 🎬 What a year it’s been! From working alongside Scott Adkins in BRAWLER, coming in 2027, to filming several other movies playing fighters and gangsters. Martial arts has been my life since childhood. Kicking is my speciality, but I’ve trained in boxing since I was a kid. Growing up watching ROCKY, I never imagined I’d get the chance to play a boxer on screen myself! The cast for A MEASURE OF DIGNITY is incredible, and I genuinely believe this could be something special. Massive thanks to Northline Pictures and the filmmakers for believing in me! @northlinepictures8 THE MESSAGE? NEVER PUT AN EXPIRY DATE ON YOUR DREAMS! It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you come from or how many opportunities you’ve missed. I’m still learning, still pushing myself and still chasing dreams! DON’T SPEND YOUR LIFE WONDERING WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN. GO OUT THERE AND DISCOVER WHAT STILL CAN BE! 🥊 YOUR GREATEST CHAPTER MIGHT STILL BE WAITING TO BE WRITTEN! #GarryBell #AMeasureOfDignity #NeverGiveUp #Rocky #BoxingMovie by @contendergym
