@rotterdamcoffeefest is the highlight of the month! As one of the organizers, I’ve been busy getting this event together. There are lots of cool things going on throughout the city next Thursday and Friday, and the main feature will be on the weekend at De Doelen. It’s going to be the biggest coffee event Rotterdam has ever seen, and you’ll be able to explore so many drinks, gadgets, books, beans, and more throughout the festival ☕️ After that, I’m taking a break 😬 so the Contributor space will be closed to public for the rest of the year. The webshop will remain open though! So if you’ve been eyeing some titles for Christmas gifts, you still have time ☺️ by @contributor.coffee
Contributor is a coffee book store, but it’s also a physical manifestation of that feeling you get when you settle down in a comfy chair with a book and coffee, and everything fades away. When was the last time you had that, without the chaos on your phone or the events of the world lingering in the back of your mind? In trying to create a life for myself where I can etch a living doing the things I love all the time, Contributor was born. It took a while for me to give Contributor its shape and form, but I think I’m onto something here. You can expect great coffee books, interesting recipe experiments, quiet decaf evenings, and the endless pursuit of coffee connections here. #coffeebookstore #independentbookstore #privatelibrary #coffeeandbooks by @contributor.coffee
@rotterdamcoffeefest is just around the corner! 🎪 As one of the organisers, I can’t wait for everyone to experience what we’ve been working on. There is so much to do and see at this four-day fest, the likes of which the city has never seen (in terms of caffeination). 📚There will be a Contributor bookstore stand there, merged with the RCF Shop where you can also pick up a bunch of cool tools and gadgets and festival merch. 👯‍♀️But what’s even more exciting is the presence of three very special fellow coffee book authors! @christine.rollings is flying in all the way from Canada to be on a panel and do some signing sessions for My Barista ABCs 🥹 and @wendeliendrinkscoffee and @roseyourcoffeecompanion are launching the English translation of their gorgeous book, The New Barista, for the very first unveiling!! 🎊 I’ll be moderating an awesome panel with these three ladies on Saturday at 15:30 about the quiet rebellion of coffee literature 😈 Please join us if you love coffee and books! by @contributor.coffee
Had a blast at Keen On Coffee Fest as a vendor in the community market. It felt really good to be back among friends after a bit of a summer break, and loved seeing all the familiar faces taking the stage at the @dutch_aeropress_championship . Always makes me happy to see people get excited about coffee books in print 📚☕️ Thanks @keen_coffee for organizing such a great event full of intimate and energetic vibes 🤍 Love these photos by @connorhoutman 📸 by @contributor.coffee
It’s getting cozy in here 🍂🕯️ Excited to be a vendor at @dutch_aeropress_championship ! I have some new coffee fiction that’s just puuuurrrfect for the season. Only one open bookshop day this month though. That’s because @rotterdamcoffeefest is coming up on the first week of November and our team is swamped with preparations. Still, mark the 16th in your calendar if you wanna do some super cozy quiet reading (or crocheting, writing, whatever) by candlelight and coffee 🍁 👻🎃 by @contributor.coffee
Fresh perspectives, on paper and in your cup. 🎨📚 Meet two more exhibitors at Keen on Coffee Fest! Utrecht illustrator @kristelvanderzwaag invites you to see the everyday differently through colourful analogue illustrations, working with coloured pencils, screen printing and Risograph. Rotterdam bookshop @contributor.coffee brings a whole world of coffee literature. From physics and history to business and coffee-themed novels, there’s something for every curious coffee drinker. Cozy day to be part of @grootrotterdamsatelierweekend So happy to see the building’s @km12.rotterdam collective growing with some new members, and all of us settling into our spaces more comfortably now. There’s so much talent here 🤍 by @contributor.coffee
*mahjong date correction Some fun stuff happening next month! They’re all very different and I love being able to collaborate with so many types of partners. 🥄 First up is the Global Charity Cupping with @iamnotabarista on 13/9 at @enjoyevermore where we’ll be tasting 18 different coffees and raising money for a farmer training program. 🎨 Then it’s @grootrotterdamsatelierweekend at the @km12.rotterdam building on 19/9 so come hang out at the bookshop and visit all the other cool creatives here. @riso.attic is also throwing a party upstairs 🥮 Mahjong and Mooncakes are back at @enjoyevermore with @reddragonsocialclub on 27/9. We had so much fun doing this last year. Come celebrate Mid Autumn with us! 📚 Then on the first weekend of October we have the Keen on Coffee Fest and @dutch_aeropress_championship on 3/10 in Utrecht, where I’ll be selling books! Hope to see you at one of these things 🤩 by @contributor.coffee
Global Charity Cupping comes to Rotterdam! Sunday 13 September 13:00 We’re proud to join over 20 other partners around the world to help raise money for the Global Coffee Alliance for Good’s 2026 education program for young farmers in Indonesia. At this cupping, you’ll taste 18 coffees provided by the program’s partners plus our host venue, @enjoyevermore , that span eight different origins. Some of the highlights are: -Panama Elida Estate -Thailand Gesha -Yunnan SL-34 -Java Liberica -and so many more So while we’re discovering these super interesting coffees (blind tasting first!), we’ll also be raising money for GCAG that will go towards meals, travel, on-site expenses, and training materials. You can choose between a cupping-only ticket or a ticket that includes one @coffeewristbands , link in bio This event is a collaboration between @iamnotabarista x @contributor.coffee x @enjoyevermore x @rotterdamcoffeefest to connect the coffee community in Rotterdam with the wider industry abroad. Who wants to get their slurp on? by @contributor.coffee
A tad late but here’s the Contributor schedule for the summer! Still open most Fridays :) And the webshop is always there for all your coffee book needs 🤍📚☕️ by @contributor.coffee
@christine.rollings took the plunge to not only write but also self-publish @mybaristaabc . This is what gave her confidence: Her deep experience with working in coffee and raising a family. Her book bridges the gap between a parent’s life in and outside the home, bringing understanding to young children about what their parents are so obsessed with. Thank you Christine for sharing about your self-publishing process and working with Amber Steffen to illustrate the book! Full article link in bio :) by @contributor.coffee
How’s everyone doing? Just wanted to let you know your favorite coffee bookshop is still going strong! I’ve been busy with a few new projects and gigs so social media marketing has taken a backseat 😅 but the webshop is still alive and kickin’. A LOT of books were sold out after Amsterdam Coffee Festival (thank you for the support 🥹) but now most titles are freshly restocked again! Plus I’ve added a whole new genre with The Book of Coffee: A Philosophy, in case you wanted to do some light, introspective, yet still coffee-themed reading 😉 Later this month I’ll be at World of Coffee Brussels! See you there? by @contributor.coffee
