Part 2 Post Show:
My initial post show I didn’t put this portion in. I didn’t know if I should. I never want anyone ever feeling sorry for me or showing disingenuous empathy. But maybe; just maybe my narrative can help empower someone else.

I served 29 years in the US Army. Combat Veteran with multiple tours and missions on the active duty side as well as National Guard. I’ve always just tried to “Be”. No complaining. Head down. Work hard and Never damn Quit!

What most don’t know is that I’ve had multiple knee surgeries. After retiring I began having severe pain in my lower leg extremities. Deep in my bones. The pain has been excruciating. Pain that keeps me from sleeping (I already have clinical chronic insomnia) and runs up and down my legs. It’s not sciatic related. I’ve been to multiple appointments. Seen multiple specialists. At first my team thought it was just due to no knee cartilage (that’s another story). Ive been on multiple types of medication for pain management. Phase 4 of prepof this year I had my bone density scan. I had received a diagnosis early on but my medical team wanted to ensure it was the right diagnosis. Unfortunately I have a rare bone disease. I can’t even pronounce the damn thing let alone spell it (lol). What does this mean. Well multiple knee surgeries; treatments to keep the degeneration and deformities at bay as long as possible. I’ve been devastated. So when I wrote in my other post that my life came tumbling down like an avalanche early on in 2026 trust me it did. It’s been hard. Navigating everything. But one thing is for sure if you know me when my back is against a wall I fight. It’s an ugly fight but damn I’m trying to fight. I don’t know what the future holds but damn it I’m not going down without a fight.

We always see stories of the human spirit. For me I just want to be a good person and help others. If I can through the sport of body building and beyond I will..

Do me a favor; No “Im Sorry’s” None of that. Let’s all just keep pushing each other and empowering each other to new levels of greatness. That’s it that’s all.

I love my community and let’s keep ROARing together.

Reflective Post:
I didn’t want to post immediately about my journey to my Pro Debut. For one I was swamped after the show but I also wanted to take a moment to reconcile with myself. This post is different.

I started body building in January of 2025 to reclaim my health. So I did @ocbchesapeakeclassic this time last year. I competed well and took 2nd overall. The competitive athlete in me wasn’t satisfied so after some thinking I was @ocbrichmondva bound. There I won both my Open and Masters Pro Cards. Two shows in. I was grateful.

One thing about life is just because you win in one area doesn’t mean you are winning in others. On the exterior I won but there was an internal battle. My mental health had taken a huge decline and I was struggling hard with PTSD, anxiety and depression and the transition to full civilian life. It was the darkest and hardest moments of my adult life (and I’ve had a few). February of 2026 I received news that would rock me completely. My sister’s terminal diagnosis. It cut in a way that I wasn’t ready for. My sister. My Hero. Other events transpired that shattered me and left me absolutely heartbroken. I ended up homeless sleeping in car and gym. My whole world came tumbling down around me. It’s not what I thought I’d be going through turning 50 in April.

But the sport I love so much saved me twice now. I decided to go into prep and make my pro debut. Body building was my lifesaver. It gave me purpose. It gave me a platform to channel my emotions. The pain, the anger, the anguish, the tears. All of it. The challenge to be disciplined anchored me. It quieted the storm and calmed the sea of emotional waves.

Stepping on stage this past weekend was a paradigm shift for me. Am I 100%? No, I’m not but the community that has come together with Conversion Fitness and beyond is something that I’m so grateful for.

We did it y’all. Through pain, heartache, tears and the more. We did it.

Thank you to everyone for your unwavering love, support, words of encouragement and grace. I couldn’t have made it to the stage without you.
To my team of sponsors and my inner circle you already know.

I love you.

The Lioness has reemerged. by @conversionfitness

Everyone around me in this photo holds a special place in my heart. Different journeys and different goals. But when it comes to supporting each other it’s a no brainer. All are Conversion Fitness trained. And my family @thattetiabrown @thejaynaelise I love you both so so much. And little Choon Hee. Aunties little potato. A more in-depth post later. But for now who’s ROARing with me??

Thank you for supporting your coach. by @conversionfitness
