Annual Halloween/Marathon visit to my NY family ❤️❤️‍🩹💙 by @cookingwithmichele

My favorite meals from 3 weeks in Italy! We drove 725 km, cycled 120 km, and walked 145 km thru 17 towns in 4 regions of this gorgeous country. Alla prossima! ❤️🇮🇹❤️ by @cookingwithmichele

26 years ago I watched the Barrone family come to this tiny town outside of Rome in season 5 of Everybody Loves Raymond and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It’s charming and was the perfect ending to our 3 weeks in Italy! ❤️🇮🇹❤️ by @cookingwithmichele

Stunning castle visit that was unexpected! by @cookingwithmichele

The weather cooperated for a short visit and lunch to this enchanted spot. #cinghiale by @cookingwithmichele

Stopped for lunch and some tasting of the fabulous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Such a pretty spot with views over the stunning Val d’Orcia in Tuscany. ❤️🇮🇹❤️🍷❤️ by @cookingwithmichele

Braved the CRAZY crowds trying to hold up the tower to visit the Piazza dei Miracoli. The beauty is inside these fantastic buildings, not the tourist traps around them! by @cookingwithmichele

I finally found my ancestral home north of Lucca!❤️🇮🇹❤️

Maria & Giovanni Giannecchini had 8 children between 1834 and 1852. My great great grandfather Ignazio was second in 1835 and with his wife Creusa had my great grandfather Ettore in 1874. Ettore was the one who left for CA and with his wife Louise had my grandfather Arthur in CA in 1909. Arthur married my Nana and they had my mom then quickly divorced.

The plaque on the house is a tribute to my great great grandfather’s brother and says ““Father Doroteo Giannecchini was born in this house in 1837. A Franciscan missionary, anthropologist, man of letters, and explorer, he died in Bolivia in 1900. The Municipality of Pescaglia and the Mountain Community erected this plaque as a well-deserved and lasting tribute. October 7, 1990.” by @cookingwithmichele

Full day of seeing the historic sights of this pretty Tuscan town. by @cookingwithmichele

After 19 years, with 16 groups of 160 people, I just concluded my final tour in Puglia. Thank you to all of my guests who trusted me as your guide, and thank you to The Awaiting Table and Silvestro for hosting my groups each year. It’s been a great run!

A lot has changed over the years but this gorgeous city will always be in my heart.
