Time to reintroduce myself! I’m Shelly, Owner and Senior Stylist for Copper Salon & Spa. We purchased our building in midtown about 5 years ago with a dream and a vision built around offering our brides more than just hair and make up. I then founded the co-op based on the desire to create a warm and inviting space for both our clients and our team. We are a collective of stylists, make up artists, skin care and scalp specialists, nail and lash technicians all here to offer a luxury experience that goes beyond the typical bustling salon. Our vibe is relaxed and cozy, the perfect escape. Come see us, we can’t wait to welcome you!

One of the things I love most about weddings in Tahoe is how many completely different ways there are to do them.

This was our first time photographing a wedding at the Alpine Meadows side of Palisades Tahoe, and I really loved this setup. You get the mountains surrounding you for the ceremony and portraits, but there’s also a big indoor space for dinner, dancing and the rest of the night — which is always a nice thing to have in the mountains.

And that late afternoon light coming through Alpine Meadows was pretty hard to beat.

Such a fun day with these two, and definitely a Tahoe venue I’d be excited to photograph again.

There are some couples you just click with from the very beginning. 🤍

Caitlyn + Brendan were that for us.

After months of conversations, meetings, design decisions, layouts, logistics, vendor details and all the little pieces that go into bringing a wedding together, Saturday finally arrived — and what a joy it was to watch these two simply get to be bride + groom.

They were married at beautiful St. Francis of Assisi in Incline Village and then celebrated with the people they love at Tannenbaum, tucked into the mountains off Mt. Rose Highway.

And THAT is the part of this work I never want to lose sight of.

We can build timelines, review contracts, design beautiful spaces, reconcile vendor details and prepare for a hundred different scenarios — but ultimately, we do all of it so that when the day arrives, our couples can be present.

To hug their people.
To laugh.
To dance.
To soak it in.
To get married. 🤍

Caitlyn, it has been such a gift to walk alongside you through this season. Watching everything we had talked about and planned finally come together — and watching you and Brendan surrounded by so much genuine love and joy — made this planner’s heart very, very happy.

These are just a few little glimpses from my phone, through the eyes of a planner who left with tired feet and a very full heart.

Congratulations, Caitlyn + Brendan. We loved celebrating you. 🤍

And Caitlyn, you’re gorgeous.
